“Comfortable cottage in pictureque surroundings”
Reviewed 18 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We had a wonderful holiday here. The cottage is large, with 3 large double bedrooms (one en-suite) and a large kitchen/diner/lounge. It's located in a perfect Irish landscape, windows look out over the river valley and mountains and forest. We were visited by deer most days!
The cottage has all mod cons - dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, cooker, fridge/freezer. There's also great wi-fi (a surprise for such a remote area).
There are endless walks nearby in beautiful scenery (such as the Trooperstown nature reserve which is half a mile away). In the other direction the road takes you to the beautiful village of Laragh with its pubs and restaurants (see my review of the Wicklow Heather Restaurant). Beyond that, about a mile and half away, you have Glendalough where there's always lots to do.
The place is idyllic and tranquil. Christie, the owner, is a lovely guy who is so friendly and eager to please.

“Really pleasant place close to Wicklow walks”
Reviewed 3 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Very well located in a quiet area. The cottage is really clean and there is everything needed in it.The host, Christy, was warm welcoming, really helpfull and available. He gave us some advices to visit the neighborhood and also touristics maps.
It's well located to walks in the Wicklow mountains, close to the Glendalough monastic site. It's also not far from the east coast and Dublin.
The pub, 10mn walk, offers good meals and music on saturday's night.
We really enjoy our stay in this place.

“Pleasant place to stay”
Reviewed 3 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Glendalough was a very pleasant cottage in a countrified location. The cottage had a lovely view over the hills. It was clean and equipped for typical holiday needs (note bring your own cleaning fluids). The landlord was very pleasant and helpful. Our extended family found it a very useful base to explore County Wicklow and enjoy some lovely meals together.

“Fantastic Easter break in the Wicklow Mountains”
Reviewed 18 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Very well equipped, comfortable cottage in stunning location a short drive from Glendalough. Good position for exploring the Garden of Ireland. Well stocked village store, good pub, restaurant, cafe and post office within 10 min walk. Hosts couldn't be more helpful. Starter pack on arrival was very handy (dishwasher tablets, fire lighters and wood, tea, sugar, milk and biscuits!). Would recommend and hope to return in future.

“Comfortable and spacious cottage handy to Wicklow walking”
Reviewed 16 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The cottage at Glendalough was well located for walking in the Wicklow area. It had everything you could possibly need, as well as information and maps for the more involved walks and the local area. Although it is just off the main road into Laragh, it was extremely quiet and peaceful and very relaxing. The washer /dryer was very welcome and the homely furnishings, reading material and open fire made for a very relaxed stay. Christy was a very welcoming host and was available for any queries or questions from us.
