This was my favorite location on the garden route. It's in a beautiful location, the food was great, and the rooms were quiet and clean. They accommodated me and four others and it was a great experience. Highly recommend!

Tarn House was without a doubt our favorite place to stay on our trip around the Garden Route. The charming house is situated on the top of a hill overlooking indigenous forests, with a big green lawn, pool and a beautiful dam. We ended up staying three nights instead of one as we were so pleased with our room and the lovely, helpful staff who were always willing to make our stay more comfortable. The breakfast is big a highlight. It included a view, generous amounts of delicious coffee, fresh fruit salad, home baked scones (pancakes on our last day!), and a fantastic hot breakfast. Tarn gets all the little details right and I sense that the owners, Natalie and Erica, as well as their friendly staff, are at the heart of the warm, generous and relaxed feel you will find at Tarn House. As locals who love finding the quality little gems in SA, we will return for sure!

Room tip: Sunbird room has the best views!

A lovely house in a beautiful setting situated on the Garden Route. Nothing was too much trouble and we were well looked after. Fabulous food in the evening and at breakfast. A great place to stop for a few days.

Wonderful room, fantastic service, spectacular views!
Breakfast in the morning was outstanding! The staff were so friendly and caring. Just a touch outside Plettenberg Bay, very easy to find and so quiet. If you need some TLC and just want a break, you will struggle to find a better place.
We cant wait for our next visit!!

We had a delightful stay in a beautiful country setting in the Crags, overlooking the hills and forests. The well kept garden and spacious rolling lawns, as well as the bird songs, complement the serenity of the surroundings. Relaxing on loungers at the poolside in the warm afternoon sun was therapeutic. The sunsets were spectacular!

But even more impressive was the attention paid to us by our hostess, Erica, who made sure we were comfortable and well fed! Dinner and breakfast, cooked by her with obviously fresh ingredients and herbs from the garden, were delicious and well presented. Meals were served with a choice of good wine in the dining room at the fireside. The fact that we could relax in the lounge before dinner in front of a huge roaring fireplace was a welcome bonus.

There is a lovely big bath but a heater in the bathroom would have been welcome!

All in all, a wonderfully relaxing weekend!
