Tamodi Lodge is centrally located between Knysna and Storms River Mouth, Tsitsikamma National Park, just outside Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route. It is an ideal touring base.
We were in Rm 5 Honeymoon Suite which has a large decked terrace overlooking stunning African countryside: both woodland and mountains beyond. The accommodation is very well appointed and careful attention has been made to ensure its presentation is both artistic and tasteful whilst fully reflecting its African locality. The peace and beauty of its location cannot be overstated.
The large and airy suite has both indoor and outdoor showers, a freestanding bath, double wash basins and a separate toilet. The king size bed is comfortable and set attractively within the room. A separate storage area is ideal for suitcases and baggage and hanging clothes etc. A seating area with comfy leather chairs ,coffee table and modern wood burning stove is attractively set out in a separate part of the suite adjacent to the kitchen area which comprises sink, refrigerator, kettle, coffee machine and microwave. The room and accommodation was immaculately clean.
Breakfast is serve in the main lodge, a short distance away and enjoys similar stunning view from its covered terrace location, adjacent to the sun deck and infinity pool. Cold and hot food alternatives were available of the same high quality characterised by the rooms. Interesting menu options were presented each day which were of the highest quality and were attractively presented.
Enrico's restaurant is a high quality option for dinner and only minutes away from Tamodi. It is popular with locals and tourists alike and reservations cannot be made - so get there early. It is worth the effort.
Hosts, Owen and his daughter, Chelsea were excellent re their knowledge of the area and their warmth of welcome and we are grateful to them for making it a truly memorable experience in a first class guesthouse which they should be rightly proud of. This guesthouse has a real wow factor! We cannot recommend it enough.

Room tip: The quality of all accommodation is very high.

The lodge is simply awesome! The rooms are really large and are beautifully decorated, so is the whole lodge. The view and the surroundings (nature) are fantastic. As the lodge is slightly remote, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. However, a car is recommended. The staff and also the owners are very helpful and friendly. For dinner, we got the recommendation to go to Enrico, a lovely restaurant just a 10 min drive away from the lodge. We totally enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for only one night in one of the newer rooms, this is the / one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in for sure.

The main lodge is stunning - as is the in house wine cellar! Recommend the newstead MCC.

Our room itself- just fabulous, huge room, wonderful (and appreciated given it was cold!) fireplace and a lovely huge bed. The location in the tree tops makes you feel truly in the wilderness and is so quiet and relaxing. We will be back!

Try enricos for dinner, a 2 min drive and big food for small money

My only regret was that we only booked two nights at this great place whilst on our travels. My son and his wife had stayed here a couple of years ago and had always said I would love it. They were right. The minute I entered the main lodge, I knew it was my kind of place. The staff were friendly, the decor was lovely. We stayed in Chalet 4 which is away from the main building and so private. The room was lovely, well decorated, spacious and with great views. Breakfast was also a quality meal. I really hope we get to return here one day. If you are looking for a lovely, peaceful, tranquil place to staff in this area.....you will not do better than Tamodi Lodge.
