If you want to know what heaven is like!

Review of Tamodi Lodge
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Mar 2015
This Lodge has certainly the WOW factor.
The room, the pool, the view from your balcony, the breakfast, wifi everything is amazing. But most of all your host Owen (and his wine-cellar) will make your visit complete.
If this is 4 star then only Heaven should be allowed 5 star.

We stayed @ Tamodi for 4 nights (honeymoon suite). This really was one of the best experiences we had in South Africa in the 8 years we yearly visit the country. The view is breathtaking and room absolutely fabulous. In the area much activities are possible. No reason to be bored... or take a book and enjoy the silence @Tamodi.

Room tip: Honeymoon suite is fantastic but other rooms will definitely be great as well.

We had heard about Tamodi on Tripadvisor and when there were no negative reviews it was too good an opportunity to miss on our Garden Route trip. The magnificent lodge was built by Owen and his wife in a magnificent location as their home and when their kids grew up they decided to turn it into guest accommodation. The lodge has only 4 bedrooms, but those bedrooms are huge and beautifully furnished with superb views and every possible amenity. But good accommodation is only part of the mix and what brings people back is the combination of location and superb friendly staff. Owen himself cooks a mean breakfast! For local food there is a private road down to the beach for Enrico's Italian restaurant on the beach and on the second night Owen recommended and booked the Fat Fish in nearby Plettenberg which was an excellent choice. There is also a comprehensive wine cellar downstairs where you go, choose a bottle, and enjoy at your leisure. A highlight of our trip to South Africa.

      Room tip: All rooms superb

Our favourite B&B in South Africa!! Super once again, views to die for. Total peace and quiet. Owen should get a Michelin Star for his breakfasts!
Just one little point. Please put a socket for the hairdryer near to a mirror.

We spent a night at Tamodi and our biggest regret was that we couldn't spend more time there. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was absolutely incredible. The huge doors open to a massive balcony with an endless view of the forest in front of you. At night, get a bottle of wine from the cellar and sit outside and watch the stars. We can't wait to come back and stay for a while.
