“Ideal place for Muskoka 70.3”
Reviewed 10 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This place is heaven, the owners go out of there way to make you comfortable. Right beside the lake with everything you need. Perfect place to watch the muskoka ironman bikes go right in front. Gord even offered to follow me for a morning swim. Will be back for sure

“Cosy, charming cottage with beautiful lakeview.”
Reviewed 17 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Stayed here for a couple nights with our 11-month-old son. It is a clean, cosy and charming cottage, all the rooms of good size. Fully stocked kitchen in terms of appliances/dishware. Comfortable beds and sofas. Large windows overlooking wooded area down to lake. Very scenic. Large patio with large picnic table and lounge chairs. Beware the chipmunks! They are not shy... Beware the kitchen screen door as they can squeeze under it!

Cottage is on land shared with another larger cottage. We did not see anyone in other cottage during our stay. If you are looking for complete privacy then this may not be for you. But the outdoor area for sitting is large and if you are social people then you may not mind occasionally seeing others around. Lake is lined with cottages so there are neighbours.

Not a sandy beach leading to water, but the dock waters are very shallow and sandy. Good for splashing around.

Dwight is a cute little town complete with LCBO, grocery store and the best bakery in town: Henrietta's!!

We chose this cottage as it was one of the smaller ones in the area (we didn't need to accommodate a large number of people) and the price was reasonable.

The kitchen is very well equipped and clean, with a coffee machine, large modern fridge, microwave (although it was not plugged in), dishwasher (also not plugged in) and all the pots, pans and utensils you might need for regular cooking. The lounge and dining room are very comfortable with good views of the lake through the windows. The bedrooms are small and basic, as is the bathroom, but it did seem to have an ample hot water supply. The deck is nice, with chairs, a table and a bbq, but we didn't use it much as the mosquitoes were pretty thick at times. The dock at the lake's edge provided a good place to splash in the shallow water and also enjoy the sunset (deet spray recommended). The free wifi access was good.

The owner seemed very friendly in email communication leading up to our stay, but it would have been good to have everything spelled out at the start: perhaps a standard pdf document that could explain all the details of what was and wasn't included (for example we were told quite late in the piece that sheets and towels were not included, something I now understand is quite common here in Canada, but we are from overseas), what payment methods would be accepted (email transfers are only available with Canadian bank accounts, PayPal or credit card would be so much easier, especially as international visitors), what the deposit amount would be, etc., just to improve the efficiency of the communication rather than going back and forth with multiple emails.

All in all, a very pleasant stay in a lovely little cottage.

This cottage is really beautiful, very close to the lake and with lots of things to do for very busy children! We had a wonderful time, made marshmallow on the fire pit and enjoy the peace and quite of the surroundings! Also it is very close to most amenities and beautiful provincial parks, such as Arrowhead and Algonquin. Recommended!
