“Well worth a return visit”
Reviewed 12 September 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I would happily return to this chalet again. We visited in June with small children (1 and 2) and did not finish exploring the whole area, there was that much to do.

The chalet itself is in a pleasantly quiet area surrounded by other traditional wooden chalets. The parking space is directly outside. There was some outside space which we didn't use, but we did use the balcony which caught the sun from mid morning until evening which was great for gazing across the valley to the mountains opposite. The chalet is very homely with wood burner in the lounge and a well equipped kitchen. The staircase down to the 2 bottom double bedrooms is steep and narrow so watch out if you are tall or have young children! The beds were comfortable and always enough hot water to shower.

Venturing on foot from the chalet is Morzine centre (15 mins) in one direction and Montriond 10 mins in the other direction both with fantastic eateries but with much more choice in Morzine.

We bought the Muti pass which was excellent value for use of the comprehensive summer lift system and the excellent sports/leisure faciliites all for 2 euros a day.

We also visited Annecy 1.30hrs away and Chamonix 1hr which are well worth visiting but with plenty to see and do in Morzine you may not feel this is necessary.

“Delightful chalet in a perfect location”
Reviewed 8 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

On arrival at Chalet Leon we where all pleasantly surprised by the location, nestled in amongst the other beautiful wooden chalets, as I had pictured it being all on it's own on the outskirts of the village. What a delightful wee chalet.

There are three bedrooms, one large room in the loft and two smaller double rooms on the lower floor, accessed by a fairly steep staircase. It was very fresh and clean. We all found the beds and bedding to be very comfortable and cosy with plenty of pillows. The two showers had plenty of hot water for the five of us. On the towel front (not a criticism) I would have preferred a bath sheet rather than a bath towel, but then I do have a body best suited to the larger towel :O(

Once we had adorned the living room with tinsel, fairy lights and candles and the wood burner was roaring (the owners organised a weeks supply of chopped wood to be delivered ) we spent most of our evenings settled in, playing one of the excellent selection of board games. We all proved our distinct lack of knowledge about all things skiing when we played the ski quiz game !

The kitchen was extremely well equipped. I ,as "chalet maid", was impressed by the selection of utensils, serving dishes , crockery etc. and it was lovely to be provided with the basics such as tea, coffee, s&p, washing up liquid, tea towels etc. However, we did take our own as most self catering accommodation we have stayed in are not as generous. There is a nice sized dining table, comfortably seating six and a great CD system, remember to take your CD's.

For me, as a non-skier, the location was perfect. I loved strolling into Morzine, which is a beautiful, traditional village, having a mooch around the shops and then enjoying a cafe au lait and pain au raisin sitting in the sunshine, people watching.

We adored the wonderful view from the balcony, overlooking charming chalets, pine tree forests ,the blue skies and the snow covered mountains. Magnificent!

After our initial misunderstanding re the ski bus/ ski location, my husband and our 3 adult children had a fantastic week skiing. They hopped on the bus to Les Gets(bus stop 2 minutes walk from the house), paid 1.5 euros, enjoyed the scenic route then skied Morzine- Les Gets all day then skiied down to Morzine village for apres ski! However, we would also recommend purchasing the Porte du Soleil lift pass that covers the whole ski area, taking you to Avoriaz for guaranteed snow. The free bus takes you a very short journey to the lifts in Ardent.

Ski hire at Ardent was very handy and well priced, offering a good discount for guests staying at Chalet Leon (pre-book on line). On arrival they could not find our booking as their system was down. I asked the wee French gentleman, whom I assume was the owner, if there was a problem. "Madame," he replied with a smile, " There is no problem, only solution!" Sure enough, within 10 mins they where all kitted out and ready to go.

We ALL agreed that without hesitation we would highly recommend Chalet Leon and hope to return again . ( I am fancying a Springtime visit ).

“Comfortable, clean and cozy”
Reviewed 27 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This was the second time I've stayed in this chalet in the summer months. It has most things you need for a comfortable stay, and most importantly, its nice and clean. It has plenty of beds and a good sized kitchen. The only reason I haven't given it 'excellent' as a rating is that there is no washing machine. This isn't a huge thing and you can easily get round this.
