A huge thumbs up to Claire and all her staff at Rhino River Lodge for their professionalism and great service so warmly provided during our recent stay. The food was wonderful ; the Lodge and accomodation were splendid.
Special mention too for our "Wild Dog Whisperer" Ranger - Bongane . He was quite incredible and seemed to be able to dial up whatever we asked him to find. Nothing was too much effort and his infectious enthusiasm coupled with his vast knowledge of the bush and all it's inhabitants was something we will happily remember for a long time to come. Well done to you all.

This was my first visit to the lodge and I will definitely return. My room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable - I had a wonderful view of the river from my verandah. The staff were welcoming and friendly while still staying professional. The food was decadently delicious. Our ranger, Hala, was exceptional. He did his absolute best to give us the best game experiences....one being a sighting of the wild dogs and following them on a hunt...unbelievable to see how they all work together to obtain success. We saw four of the Big Five, besides Impala, Giraffe, Zebra etc. Thank you Hala!! Actually, thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay. You are all stars!!

Room tip: Room 6 has wonderful views

We visited Rhino River Lodge for a much-needed long weekend break with our kids aged 15 and 12. What a wonderful, effortless and informative time in the bush. My wife and I enjoy the Manyoni Private Game Reserve for the diversity of game and habitats, and we have visited Rhino River Lodge on several previous occasions, but it is always a joy to return to this lodge. The staff are relaxed and welcoming but thoroughly organised and efficient. The small size of the lodge creates an intimate atmosphere but at an overall cost (especially for our family of 4) which is more affordable and better value for money than other lodges or reserves. Add to this the unique experience of joining a rhino dehorning operation which we arranged through the lodge during our stay, will make this holiday one we and our kids will never forget!

Room tip: Family chalets are good value, while Homestead offers more luxury for a group of 4

Loved our time in the bush (as always) in the extremely comfortable luxurious Homestead unit where we were spoilt with some special sightings such as dwarf chameleon, porcupine, owls as well as all the regular superstars like lions & elephants and were even blessed with a stunning cheetah sighting too.
