What a fantastic way to celebrate my 40th with close friends. We stayed at Little Bayete (4 couples) and had a dedicated ranger Michaela for our stay! Great accommodation and views, and Mama and Wendy cooked all our meals to perfection. Our game sightings were incredible; lion, cheetah,lapet faced vulture, secretary bird with a snake, genet, rhino, buffalo but our highlight was the 6 wild dog which sat in the road about 3m away from us for half an hour! Michaela was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable ranger! highly recommend this very special place! We will be back!

Just phenomenal. I cannot say enough how magical our safari experience at Bayete Zulu Private Camp was this week. We had visited an earlier incarnation of this property 8 years’ ago and always wanted to return when our (now 5yo) daughter was old enough. We are so grateful to our amazing, eagle-eyed ranger Ruben for finding us a vast range of wildlife including giraffe, rhino, elephants, lion, serval, chameleon, jackal and a whole family of cheetahs as well as patiently enduring our endless questions! He could spot the tiniest movement at such a distance?! The cooler weather meant the animals were a lot more active and we had some incredible sightings.
Huge thanks also to Carin for her amazing hospitality and for making every moment in the lodge just as magical for our daughter as when we were on our game drives. The marshmallows by the campfire were a particular hit. Thank you also to Roger for creating delicious feasts and answering all my foodie husband’s recipe questions and Wendy and Fizile for looking after us!
We had high expectations after our previous visit but they were exceeded. I cannot recommend Bayete Zulu highly enough (especially the Private Camp) for a high-quality, child-friendly but authentic safari experience. It managed to offer us luxury without being stuffy or uptight. Just perfect - we can’t wait to come back.
