A great course, well maintained and in excellent condition, but long and difficult, only thing is that its very noisy with the course being on the flight path to the airport. Nice club house and Restaurant, but a wee bit pricey.

Absolutely stunning golf course in great condition - difficult with water hazards and plenty of bunkers but thoroughly enjoyed my round.
The caddy master set up our buggies with stroke savers scorecards etc and the GPS on the buggies are fantastic giving you a perfect yardage. Yes there are planes overhead but you get used to them and didn't find it off puting.
After the round we had a superb lunch of grilled turbot (pictured) and a glass of wine..the prices are high but not much more than other courses.
The clubhouse is a stunning building with extremely helpful staff and general manager Andreas Pamer was kind enough to show us around while explaining the history of Son Gual GC
Thoroughly enjoyed my round and can't wait to go back

We played golf at Son Gual this week having read alot of reviews about it and seen that it is rated Nos 1 in Mallorca out of 23 golf courses.
None of the reviews tell you that it is directly under the flight path of Palma Airport and all the incoming flights pass over the course at very low levels - it is incredibly noisy and definitely not relaxing. Planes land every 90 seconds and over a 4 hour round - that is alot of planes. For this reason i would not play there ever again.
The course is an American style course built on a featureless piece of land with few trees and some mounding plus one or two lakes. The tees were in good shape, the fairways needed a cut and the greens were pretty slow but not a bad surface. They probably ran at 8 1/2 on the stimp but not much more. The practice facilities are tired, old range balls and tee matts that were as inviting as the cart path. The pro shop is dreadful but the catering facilities and veranda area are quite good. I have played alot of golf in Europe and this place is a huge dissappointment and massively over rated - looks like it was struggling financially but thats purely conjecture. If you are going golfing in Mallorca - do not add Son Gual to your itinerary.

A super course extremely well presented giving a good challenge whilst not killing you if you were a little errant.
Entire course is fantastic condition and greens excellent, although could possibly have been a little quicker.

Loved;y clubhouse with excellent food. Be careful on Sundays no food until 10am. Which caught us out, although you can order for the he buggy and they bring it to you, which we took advantage of.

We used it as our final day on the way to the airport as I think many groups do, excellent changing facilities with towels and shower gel provided.

On that score, it's very close to the airport and for the first hour planes went out every 60 seconds and for the next hour the came in every 60 seconds, it can be noisy, so not a peaceful round!

Well recommended though, scoring much better than Alcanada (where errant shots did kill you) highest 32 average 29, ( we were all off 5-21 handicaps)
