Reviewed 11 March 2017 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed here for 2 weeks in June 2016 & had a great time visiting numerous towns & villages in the region. Sablet itself is a lovely little village, with a convenience shop, bakeries, butcher & Tourist Office. There is also a pizzeria & two restaurants, which were very good. Although the restaurants are not open every night, there are plenty of other establishments near by.
Le Fer a Cheval has has been nicely restored, but still has lots of character, the kitchen was especially well equpiped if you decided to cook anything you bought at any of the markets. As the downstairs bedroom has an en suite & the upstairs bedroom is next to another shower room, the house would be ideal for two couples or a family. We really loved having breakfast on the sunny terrace every morning enjoying pastries from the Medieval Bakery.

“Wonderful quiet Provence home”
Reviewed 7 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We were looking for a calm quiet place to relax for two weeks with friends. Fer a Cheval was perfect. Located in a nice small village with excellent bakery, butcher and local store. The locals were friendly and helpful. The village has a nice tourist office with lots of local information. The owner of the house was also very welcoming and had lots of useful information of the area and good place to eat and tour

“This 2 bedroom property has lots of atmosphere. The apartment was very comfortable and well-equipped. The owner has done a wonderful job of decorating. Lovely furnishings added to the enjoyment of our stay. The owner was extremely helpful and always available when needed. The property is ideally situated in the heart of Sablet, which is a very pretty small hill town. Sablet Was very convenient for visiting other places in the northern part of Provence.

“Fantastic holiday, house and hosts!”

We stayed as a couple for a weeks cycling holiday in early September and had a fantastic time. We cycled everyday and found the location perfect for a mixture of (reasonably) flat farmlands or rather undulating terrain and of course within easy reach of Mont Ventoux.

The house served us very well, clean, really spacious, nicely decorated & a very comfortable bed. The kitchen was particularly well equipped for all types of cooking. The house is in a great location and the terrace is a lovely spot overlooking the church in a quiet part of the village. Sablet itself is a great village with all the local amenities within walking distance - particularly recommend the bakery and the butchers.

The weather in early September was perfect for us - sunny and warm enough to sit out in the early evening with a glass of wine on the terrace

Pippa and Pascal were excellent hosts and way exceeded our expectations with all their recommendations, advice and tours of the local cycling routes. Looking forward to returning!

“Lovely place in the heart of a charming old village”

We stayed in Le Fer a Cheval in Sablet for two weeks and we enjoyed every moment of it. From the walk to the bakery in the morning and butcher in the evening to house amenities like dish washing machine, laundry machine, WiFi, barbeque etc. The house is very charming and quite roomy. We were 5 people including our three kids, and it worked very well.
Our hosts, Pippa and Pascal, were very helpful and also very knowledgable about the whole area. With their help we found the most lovely swim spot in the river and cycling routes etc.
Other highlights were the wines and the fruits that for someone coming from Sweden tasted heavenly. And of course the fresh bread from the bakery. Oh, and another thing. We had expected the weather to be hot and sticky, but we found the climate to be very comfortable. It's dry rather than humid and not super hot, even in July. Very nice.
