A quiet Monday night dinner turned into a surprisingly great meal. My wife's chicken balatine with a wild mushroom, bacon and pea sauce, accompanied by crispy home-made gnocchi, was world class. My choice of a simple beef fillet and triple cooked fries was elevated to greatness by a superb bernaise sauce and a beautifully prepared portion of crispy onion rings. What a revelation.
