We spent a lazy Friday afternoon on the stoep of the Royal Hotel drinking Gin & Tonic. It was a wonderfully lazy experience. Will definitley be back to stay for a weekend, the pool area and view looked amazing.

My husband and I have never made a better decision than choosing The Royal Hotel for our wedding venue.
The setting was perfect. The food, atmosphere, service, staff, decor, rooms, facilities was all a 10/10.
Maxwell was in incredible host and made sure our day and days leading up to our wedding was relaxed and well organised.
We couldnt have asked for a more ideal and flawless day!

We had an amazing experience spending a night and day at this hotel.
The service at the a Royal hotel was excellent and all the staff were very helpful
To mention the barman that showed us his amazing advices and skills about which gin and tonics we should try next.
For sure we will be back to this place !!

Just back from a wonderful weekend in Riebeek-Kasteel where we stayed for two nights in the Royal Hotel. The rooms were lovely and extremely comfortable. The bathroom had underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Towels were white and fluffy and Charlotte Rhys products were in the bathroom. The bar and the staff were very hospitable and we loved the "fruity" gin and tonics served there. Breakfast was selected from the a la carte breakfast menu - nicely presented and delicious. We didn't eat any other meals in the restaurant. The coffee they served at the hotel was excellent and although there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, the staff will bring it to your room. We just found it strange that it was not served on a tray and that the milk came in gravy boats. There is a turn down service and chocolates left in a box on the bed. Night one,we didn't get chocolates but night two we did! All in all would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Sitting on the veranda of this elegant old timer sipping a gin definitely evoked feelings of a more leisurely era. The gin happy hour is a must and one can choose from a wide range of gins some you will never have heard of but definitely worth a try . I liked the Hope Salt River and the Wilderer particularly.
The garden rooms 1-3 are very well appointed and the bed is enormous.the pub has a nice vibe and the barman knows his stuff,
We ate out at dinner time but breakfasted in the hotel pub. Breakfast was not well prepared - it was slow and when it arrived some of it was over cooked.
The staff were very friendly and helpful although the hotel seemed a little understaffed.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are spacious and quiet.
