Firstly, it was confusing as to which door to go through to access the hotel. Then when you do go through the right door there is no one to book you in. We had to wait quite a while, and it wasn't until we made our way to the restaurant that they sent us back but found someone to check us in who took all of 2 minutes in her desperation to return to the busy restaurant. Therefore marks for hospitality zero.
The room was comfy enough, I would even say that the bathroom was too big but the bath was too narrow.
There was an extremely meagre selection of one coffee each, take it or leave it. The way the coffee machine is made it saves the used capsules which had not been emptied for a while and there was a large rug on the floor which made it impossible to to close the door or open the wardrobe doors.
The building is beautiful and steeped in history but as there was no-one to ask and no literature we will never know.
The hotel has a lot going for it but it is the welcome and exit that you remember and these were left wanting. More
