We were looking for something different for this tropical trip, and the St. Francis certainly delivered. Our family has been to various island destinations over the years, but none can compare to our stay on Stocking Island. Imagine yourself on a private island, with the most beautiful ocean on one side and the stunning harbor on the other! Every morning I watched the sunrise over the ocean right from bed - the ocean is that close! Sunsets were stunning over the harbor, and we watched the sun go down every night from the restaurant. Sleeping at night with the only sound being the waves on the shore was terrific...I already miss the tranquility.
During the day, we were always hiking, kayaking, or just relaxing at the beach near our room. When we wanted some drinks on the beach, we just kayaked over to the Chat and Chill for some time on their beautiful beach. Petting the stingrays was always a fun diversion. We never found ourselves feeling bored, and enjoyed long walks on the beach collecting shells and enjoying the vistas.
We did take a full day boat tour from Sun Fun tours. We saw the swimming pigs, iguanas, turtles, sharks, and the highlight was swimming in Thunderball grotto. It was a small group (just 9 of us), and the day went wonderfully smoothly. Very memorable day exploring the beautiful Exuma cays.
Exuma is a gorgeous place, and Stocking Island is magical. Gillian and George were fantastic hosts to us during our stay at the St. Francis. We really were sad to leave them at the end of the week, as they felt like close friends! The St. Francis offers basic accommodations, with the most amazing location. Paradise. The food was always good, and we enjoyed both the lunch and dinner menu options. The water was great to drink, and I recommend bringing water bottles to refill in the room.
We all agreed that this was a special trip that we will remember always.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally great!

We took the water taxi from George Town to the St Francis just for lunch. With advice from friends who have stayed there several times, we arrived just as they were opening for service. The setting is beautiful, and the food among the most enjoyable of our trip. Friendly staff and cold Kalik Bahama Beer, what not to love. If in the George Town area, I highly recommend eating at the St Francis, even if you don't get a chance to stay there.

We did not stay at the hotel but we came for lunch by boat one day. The food was the best of the trip and the owner was very friendly. From what we could see, the hotel looked very nice. I would definitely look into staying here on another trip, just not sure if there is enough to do since it's on a small island. We sat outside looking out over the water and had lunch and drinks - It was a great day!

My husband and I just enjoyed a four night stay. What a beautiful location! The most beautiful, pristine, white sand, turquoise water beach just off our balcony. The other side of the resort overlooks Elizabeth Harbor--gorgeous. The owners are super friendly and helpful. The food was amazing--one night we had a choice of steak, chicken or lobster freshly grilled. So good. Rooms are very basic, but you won't find a more beautiful location. Very short kayak to Chat and Chill, otherwise just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Visited this part of the island just to enjoy some beers and the gorgeous view of the marina. The waitress was genuinely friendly which is the reception we received on our entire stay in Exuma. We didn’t stay at the resort so I can’t write a review about that but the restaurant makes good chicken wings with just salt n pepper.
