We spent two nights here, using it as a base to explore Melfi and northern Basilicata. In mid-May it was extremely quiet, maybe half a dozen guests in a hotel that has 35 rooms. Breakfast was parsimonious in the extreme, and we didn't risk the evening meal therefore. There's a pleasant short stroll around the smaller lake: the larger one is barely accessible, as it's a reserve for the endangered Brahmea europaea, a spectacular moth. We tried to find it at dusk, and found only super-mosquitoes. Be warned! The room was large and well-furnished. Staff extremely friendly. Pool was due to open on 1st June.
