I stayed with a friend (who booked the cottage) for 5 nights in November as I was doing a course at Harts Barn Cookery School nearby. Tracey was very friendly and approachable if you needed anything.
You cannot fault the cottage for cleanliness. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a relaxing living room. I had the ensuite bedroom upstairs which doesn't have a standing shower but the bath was fine. The room which is kind of open plan from the stairs (doesn't have a door) so if the temperature drops in the middle of a cold night and the heating has gone off you may feel it a bit chilly so you may need to adjust the controls. That said... I do tend to feel cold at times so this is probably my quirk and may not apply to everyone!! We figured out the controls and I was just fine.
I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and would be very happy to stay here again if in the area.
We spent a week here on a cycling holiday in July 2016 - it was a long haul from Glasgow however well worth it when we got there. Really friendly welcome - fresh bread and home baked cake. The cottage is very spacious and beautifully decorated - has everything you need. Set in lovely extensive grounds and well kept gardens - my daughter loved the rope swing by the stream and there is an outside BBQ. Plenty of space to keep our bikes and brilliant mountain bike trails at nearby Forest of Dean and Black Mountain ( a bit further) Very reasonable rent as well for what you get. Great holiday.
We stayed int he recently converted Parish Mill Lodge. Which has been completed to a very high standard. With views out through the bi-folding doors onto its own private lawn, the setting is perfect. The lodge is well equipped with an open plan living room/dining room and kitchen. The bedroom contained a very comfy bed with an en-suite shower room.
Thank you to our friendly hosts who made us feel very welcome, and showed us around.
If you get chance make sure you walk up the hill behind you, take advantage of the bench to enjoy the views and get your breath back.
Lots to do in the Forest of Dean, we were there to enjoy Chocolate making at the Harts Barn Cookery School, which is 2 mins up the road. We also enjoyed their Hire a Chef the one evening where we tasted great locally sourced food.

A delicious home made cake & fresh bread were unexpected & a delightful welcome.
Parish Mill Cottage is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for a family with teenage children and all the amenities you could ask for. The grounds are lovely & the walk up the field behind the property provides a good sense of perspective in a stunning setting.
There are many activities locally with a visit to the Farmers Boy Inn providing a more than ample dinner!
We look forward to a return visit!
We are a family of five including three children aged 9, 8 and 5. The cottage and its surrounding grounds were just perfect for us. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and is superbly maintained. The owners - Tracy and David- were always on hand to help and helped to make our stay even better.
We spent hours kicking a ball around the gardens, playing on the swings, exploring or just plain relaxing.
There is so much to do in the area.
We went cycling in the Forest of Dean, visited the Birds of Prey Centre, walking in Symonds Yat Rock and eves had a day trip
Our only regret is that we had to leave!
