“Lovely and cosy house with superb swimming pool-perfect for families !”
Reviewed 28 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We had a really nice stay in this property with our two children (aged 10 and 6), it was definitely the best experience we have had with a holiday rental. It actually didn't feel like a holiday rental at all: the house is full of charm, with lovely furnishings and it is equipped like a real home. We found everything we needed and more ! Bedlinen and towels a plenty, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, electric kettle, microwave oven, barbecue, ping pong table... The owner had very kindly filled the fridge and cupboard with useful suppplies for us. Sandra was very welcoming, she gave us a number of really useful tips and recommendations. The swimming pool was absolutely lovely, and we all had a great time swimming and playing in the water, even our water-shy youngest son. Galan is 15 minutes away on foot, it has a very good bakery. Some of our outings were: the jazz festival in Marcillac, the Arran animal park in Spain, château de Mauvezin, cirque de Gavarnie. All in all we had a fantastic time and would heartly recommend this property and area !

“Excellent location, well equipped house with lovely garden”
Reviewed 24 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

A very well equipped house in an excellent location for exploring the Pyrenees. The village is a 20 minute walk with shops and boulangerie, Lannemazan just up the road has a great market and supermarkets etc.
The house was well equipped and we even had some food and wine waiting for our arrival.
Good sized pool, big garden to find a spot to sit & table tennis for the kids (and adults)
About an hour to get to Tourmalet, but the drive and views are stunning.

“A lovely villa, in a beautiful place.”

Villa Hortensia is probably the best-equipped house we have ever stayed in. It is in a lovely setting, and is perfect for relaxation. Sandra is extremely helpful and welcoming.

Liked best: It was like 'home-from-home'
Liked least: quietness of the local village, but this was really minor, as nearest town had everything.

“French Country Get Away”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This french country house is perfect for a large group with plenty of internal and external space. We were two families with four chidden between us - aged from 6 - 12. Whilst slightly dated in internal style, the house has every comfort & Sandra was extremely accommodating & helpful. Beds are comfortable, towels plentiful ( even fluffy pool towels !!) and the kitchen has everything we needed for a self catering holiday. Washing machine & dryer came in very handy and we came home with less dirty laundry than usual!!

The garden is glorious & the views are fabulous!! The out door pool was the invaluable given the heat at this time of year & the children spent many hours splashing & playing.

Galan is a very quiet village - which is perfect for our family get away. Our boys cycled around the quiet lanes, down to the stream & passed all the glorious sunflower filled fields - it all felt very safe, as the roads are very quiet. We cycled to Lannemezan for daily croissants & baguettes - (open every day except Monday). Good supermarkets also there....

The house is perfectly placed for mountain exploits & Sandra has many recommendations for local activities. We went White Water Rafting ...!!! We had a great week & would definitely recommend it to families.
