This resort is wonderful and we loved every minute of our time there. The staff is all wonderful, the food is delicious, the entertainment and activities are excellently done, and the facilities are perfectly maintained. I highly recommend this resort, especially for anyone looking for a very nice all-inclusive. We can't wait until we return. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.

From the moment we checked into the hotel, to the minute we left, service was outstanding. This is saying a lot as it's the second all-inclusive resort we've visited in the past two years and our expectations were set high after our first stay at The Grand Sandals in Saint Lucia. I must say, our expectations were exceeded. Excellence Playa Mujeras does an outstanding job of keeping you entertained, fed and serving drinks while maintaining integrity around the pool, bar and beach areas.

Our waiter on the beach, Emiliano, went above and beyond to keep us comfortable without being overbearing. Vilma, at the front desk concierge, gave us honest advice and guidance on excursions to enjoy. Carlos, our in-room concierge manager, helped setup a beautiful dinner on the beach and romantic in-room final night. Thank you to all the other staff who also helped make our trip fantastic.

I would not hesitate to go back to the resort!

My husband and I stayed at the Excellence for two weeks on our honeymoon and could not recommend the hotel enough! The food and drink and choice of restaurants are fantastic ranging from Indian cuisine to French. The staff especially make the hotel so luxurious as they cannot do enough for you and are so polite and attentive 24 hours of the day. Our favourite staff member was Florenciel who was one of the staff down at the main pool - he knew our names and drinks order by the first day!

The rooms and hotel complex as a whole are maintained to a very high standard.

We would go back to this hotel in a heat beat.

Would highly recommend - Complete 5* luxury!

Room Tip: Best views within block 1 - we had a rooftop suite with was 5* luxury! Rooms with a swim up by the lazy river also looked lovely!

This was our second trip to EPM, and it won't be our last. We love everything about this resort: the food, the pools, Excellence Club (worth every penny), but most especially the staff. If one takes the time to talk to the staff, they will bend over backwards to take care of you. Most especially Edgar and David at the EC pool, Erick at the EC beach, Diana at the Lobster House for breakfast, and of course, Cesar and Tona at the Martini Bar (for a little something, something.)

We tried nearly all the restaurants. We were surprised by the Flavor Market (much improved over our first visit), Toscana (Antonio), the French restaurant was excellent, and really appreciate the effort the staff puts into the special nights such as Mexican night and the summer solstice beach party.

We spent quite a bit of time at the Excellence Club lounge for a quick bite or a specialty drink. Very relaxing and private.

Tips: Interact with the staff! They love their jobs and love to get to know you. Tip the staff! They work hard and a little goes a long way.

The rooftop pool is not worth the money. It is too hot up there with little to no shade. It was great, however, to sit up there at night and listen to the music. Splurge instead for Excellence Club. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Excellence Club is worth every penny, but I wouldn't book a rooftop pool again. Not enough shade.

We visited EPM for our second time during the last week of May 2018. The weather was variable but we still managed to enjoy sunny and warm days for the majority of the trip. We booked an EC swim-up room and were placed in Building 7B facing that building's EC pool. We loved that location as it was steps away from the EC lounge, it was lively enough to socialize, but quiet enough to fully relax. The sun would hit the room during the mornings so we utilized the swim-up; then made our way to the beach for the afternoon; and head back to the swim-up around 4pm to say hi to our neighbours and have one more pool drink before heading back inside to get ready for supper. Last year we did not upgrade to EC, but thought that we would try it this year (it was a great deal when we booked). We definitely would go back to the EC category again!
We contacted the general email two weeks before our stay and were fortunate enough to correspond with Vilma. We mentioned that we would be celebrating our anniversary during this trip and would prefer to swap out all of the supplied liquor to something more to our liking (Stolis and Baileys). Vilma mentioned that this anniversary would be special. Well, she certainly delivered. We are so appreciative for the memories that she help create. We were able to utilize the EC anniversary package and she honoured our liquor choices in our room. We experienced the most romantic dinner on the beach. The setting was beautiful with the full moon and the lights (I was honestly moved). The food was actually delicious considering the logistics of having to move it to the remote location (probably from The Grill). The waiters that night were so attentive. It was a perfect night. Thank you again Vilma.
The resort was at a low capacity during our trip this year (the staff assumed that a lot of people were attending the grand opening for Jamaica that week instead). This meant that we did not need a pager for any of the restaurants, however the "buzz of people" that we had seen last visit wasn't as energizing. We still met a bunch of lovely people and enjoyed socializing.
Our room was lovely as always. No sign of aging. It was always clean and our mini bar was promptly replenished. The staff responsible those tasks that week were fantastic. We never saw them so unfortunately we do not know their names. Carlos was our EC concierge and was quite helpful booking our spa and beach dinner reservations. He also assisted in our pillow selection process. Diana was a sweetheart. We would see her everywhere (beach, EC pool, EC lounge, hallways) and she was always asking how we were or if she could do anything for us. The service at EPM is beyond any other resort we have been to and it seems to get better each visit.
The food was amazing yet again. We loved going to The Lobster House for breakfast and lunch to enjoy the food and sea views (The Grill as well for lunch); we did not go to those restaurants for supper. We did go to Toscana for the breakfast and lunch buffets on a few occasions (loved chatting with Fanny). The EC lounge was fantastic for a few nibbles and a specialized drink daily (we loved going in there). We visited the remainder of the restaurants for supper except Barcelona and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Last year we were not too impressed with Toscana for supper, but this time it was delicious! The funny thing was that we didn't go to Los Olas or grab a pizza this trip (proof that you will always experience new things during each visit). We ordered room service twice and it was great (came warm and tasted pretty good). We also had the anniversary champagne breakfast which we liked as well.
The whole EC beach and pool experiences you read about were completely true. We actually had two Cesars (one at each location) that week and they were so nice. Our loungers were set up with towels and they would even come around to clean our glasses. At first I felt weird that somebody would offer to clean my glasses but once I saw everybody partaking I felt more comfortable and took advantage of the service for the rest of the trip (not used to being pampered I guess lol). Drink service was superb. Ignacio at our EC pool always kept our drinks/water coming. We loved visiting with Jose at the EC lounge. His smile brightens up the room and his drinks were delicious.
A trip to EPM would not be complete without sitting at the Martini Bar in the evenings and enjoying Caesar's drink wizardry. He actually did a double take and screamed DIRTY, REALLY DIRTY MARTINI when he walked by us on the first night. We couldn't believe that he remembered us (crazy!). Tona is a great addition to the Martini bar and the two of them really compliment each other well. We enjoyed that bar so much that we did not go to any of the shows except for one or sit outside at Prelude. We did go to the Sports Bar for Karaoke one night though. It actually poured and it was quite an adventure getting from the lobby to the bar (but we still managed to have a blast, albeit being completely soaked lol).
We had a 40 min massage included with the anniversary package. We enjoyed that and then utilized the hydrotherapy session after. It was so relaxing. We did not feel it was necessary to extend the massage or partake in any other treatments (maybe next time).
This year we did not swim in the lazy river (which we loved last time) because we were spending more time at the beach but we did find time to enjoy a few rounds of pool. The little gems like that located throughout the resort really adds to the experience.
Once again the entire resort was beautiful. The grounds crews worked tirelessly maintaining the buildings and lush vegetation. Everything was spotless, including all public washrooms. They were constantly upgrading and revamping things so that they looked fresh.
Overall, it was an amazing trip and we cannot wait to return. We were able to finally relax, destress and enjoy each other after a busy year. We like to alternate between a couples' and family trip each year. But we found ourselves already trying to figure out how we could manage coming here next year as well. We shall see if we can swing it lol.
