This hotel is located outside of Coimbra--nice and quiet with beautiful views from all rooms. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. There are no restaurants nearby but the food in their restaurant is excellent. The staff is friendly and very helpful. If you don't want to be in the city, this is the place to stay.
The Garça Real Hotel & Spa was our best stay in 5 weeks in Portugal and neighboring Spain. The check in was superb, Joao gave us great tips and insights to Coimbra as well as Montemor-o-Velho. The room was modern, spotless and well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the king size was a bonus for two tall travelers and the shower had loads of lovely hot water. The grounds (in a quiet rural setting) were tranquil and sitting on the patio was the best therapy after a days driving. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. This hotel deserves 5 stars and more!
We stayed three nights in Montemor-o-Velho and loved this new modern hotel. All rooms are on the first floor, ours overlooking the pool. Large rooms with king size bed, spacious bathroom with large shower.
Spa with jacuzzi, sauna, steam room. Outside pool is beautiful but not heated. Breakfasts and dinners were included in our rates. Loved it! Personnel is very helpful and always respond to guest’s needs with a smile. We recommend this hotel to anyone coming to this erea. Free parking.
Good location, very nice people. Quiet atmosphere with beautiful landscapes on the fields of the Mondego river. Pleasant spa. Even though it was a short stay, I would advise to stay at this hotel. Very good!
Very nice hotel, everything was perfect, spacious, comfortable, quiet, cozy. Only 15 minutes drive from Coimbra, this gem of the hotel was such a rare find. Room was spacious and the bed was the most comfortable i ever slept in, bed linen so soft, pillows comfortable. Beautiful garden, birds singing outside. At the breakfast there were plenty of food to choose from, very delicious eggs, bacon, cakes etc. Thank you so much Garca Real Hotel & Spa for such a lovely stay.

Our room was lovely, clean and modern and the hotel was hugely relaxing. I went with my boyfriend as we were attending a wedding nearby.
The food at the restaurant is really good, and the service was great. We stayed for about four days which was long enough as unfortunately there isn't a lot to do near the hotel, but that isn't the hotel's fault.
I would really recommend the hotel, apart from if you plan on playing golf there, you have to bring your own clubs and balls as they do not provide them which was the only annoying thing. The gym there was excellent though!
