We had a great stay at Oliveraie. The villa has its own gated entrance and is set within its own private valley, so is not overlooked at all. It is close to the historical village of Le Barroux, a place almost lost in time, dating back to the 12th century. The village has tiny winding streets and incredible views over the surrounding countryside. The villa itself is well appointed and a cool retreat from the summer heat. It has lots of bedrooms and bathrooms and would suit two or three families sharing. The area immediately outside the villa has a BBQ and large dining table and plenty of space to entertain. There is also an area to play Petanque and another covered seating area nearby, ideal for evening drinks. The pool is accessed on the other side of the villa and has its own covered seating area and sun loungers and grassy space for table tennis etc. We spent most of our time in or near the pool, which was always incredibly warm, over 30 degrees C! We would certainly consider returning to the villa again next summer. The rental price reflects the space available and the quality of the amenities. The only negatives were no air conditioning and no kettle! But the villa was almost always cool anyway and a peaceful place to retire for the night. We would highly recommend the Oliveraie - ideal for a couple of families with kids sharing. There are loads of great places to visit nearby and Vaison La Romaine is only a twenty minute drive away and a great place to stock up with shopping (either Super U or Intermarche) or sit in a cafe and watch the world go by. Tres Relaxant!
