I think my last review on TripAdvisor was almost a decade ago, after a trip to Brazil. Mount Engadine Lodge warrants a review - and more.

The place is a true natural beauty. It's a can't miss if you are interested in a relaxing getaway from the everyday. The hospitality and level of service is top notch and its location is perfect if you want to experience nature in its truest form.

Whether you prefer one of their cabins or a hotel-style room in the main lodge, it has it all. The meals are 5-star material and the staff are all very friendly and helpful, providing advice and tips for your enjoyment during your stay. Just ask for Simon if you're not sure - he's practically an encyclopedia when it comes to the area and will tell you about the great things to do and see nearby.

I will absolutely be going back and very much look forward to doing so!

Room Tip: Anything facing the mountains!

My husband and 2 children (9 and 13) has the pleasure of staying in the Whiskey Jack cabin for 3 nights. The cabin was clean, the beds were comfortable and the tile entry and bathroom floors were heated to help with melting boots and cold feet. There really are no words for how wonderful the view from our cabin deck was. It was awesome!

The lodge itself was also very clean and welcoming. The kids loved being able to just walk over, grab some cocoa or tea and play some boards games, cards for whatever. There were amazing views from any of the rooms so both my husband and I could sit on the deck or in the sitting room with the kids and relax with coffee as well.

It was really great to be able to try several different complementary activities each day. The kids LOVED the toboggan hill and making snow angels, snow men and snow ball fights. We were also able to snow shoe and hike using ice cleats if there was some ice. The staff was so helpful in answering any of our questions.

Heads up on the dining experience for 2 reasons. The first is that we were not aware there would be no menu to choose from for dinner. This was problematic with 2 younger children. We all loved breakfast and the afternoon tea is not to miss but dinner was challenging with small kids. They did do an amazing job accommodating any dietary restrictions. I saw them prepare gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options for all meals so that is in their favor. The second reason probably seems trivial, but with 2 kids it was a problem. Since they make their own bread, you only have the one type for meals and for your packed lunch sandwich. They kind they had when we were there had raisins and olives. Not a great combination for a turkey or ham sandwich. Just be aware. Our last day switched to more of a soda bread and the kids were good with that.

OVERALL my whole family agrees that they knocked it out of the park!

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending a couple of days at Mount Engadine Lodge with some friends. As the title of my review explains, we were there to do some snowshoeing and it turns out, it's a perfect spot for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Our stay exceeded our expectations. The room we had was quite large and very comfortable. Although rustic, everything was clean and cared for. The staff were all amazing - very friendly and knowledgeable about the region. But what makes this Lodge stand out we're the meals! They were exceptional. We will be planning a return trip, without doubt.

My husband and I just had a beautiful 2 days at Mount Engadine Lodge. This is our second year of going up to snow shoe and enjoy the hospitality and comfort of Mount Engadine Lodge. Simon, the general manager greets every guest and that is when the hospitality begins. Every guest is treated with a hearty imaginative breakfast, a bagged lunch made with their homemade bread to take on your daily travels, a tea service served from 2 to 5 every day that consists of a very tasty charcuterie board, and then an incredible 3 course meal for dinner.

We like the fact that we can park our car on the day of arrival and then venture out every day on the several snowshoe trail options having never to move our car.

We have stayed in the cabins as well as one of the rooms in the lodge (The Raven), we preferred the room in the lodge because the view of the meadow every morning was wonderful and liked the idea we didn’t have to go outside to return to our room after dinner every night.

The lounging area has several comfortable couches and chairs with a front row seat to one of two warm inviting fireplaces which they are very happy to light for you.

They do offer a $20.00 corkage if you would like to have your own wine served. They also offer very good wine to purchase.

We will continue to make this an annual tradition and can highly recommend Mount Engadine Lodge.

Went to Engadine with our two kids 2 and 5, along with another couple and their 5YO for two nights.
The staff there were always so helpful, informative and so down to earth! There were many other guests staying at the lodge as well as many day visitors who came for Sunday Brunch or Afternoon Tea. A lot of the people we chatted with who were staying there are regulars who've been going to Engadine for years with their friends, families and pets.
The kids never had a dull moment. They spent the day toboganning, snowshoeing and building a snow fort. Also can't wait until they are old enough to go X-Country skiing. In the evening, kids enjoyed the numerous boardgames and puzzles in the main lodge which made for more great family bonding time. It was surreal to be spending the entire day outside with such incredible views surrounding us.
Meals are served in a family-style dining room which really encouraged further mingling with other guests. It is a 7pm seating, which was late for the kids, but with all the food that they had at breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, they really weren't even hungry anyways.
And then there was the food. I seriously can't say enough about Chef Mandy Leighton!
All of our dinners were to die for! Each course was so flavourful and so well thought out. Portions were generous and everything seemed to be made from scratch. Mandy even came out of the kitchen while each course was being served to explain to us what we were getting. Truly great customer service!
The rooms were very comfortable and carried my favourite Rocky Mountain Soap Company toiletries.
Overall, our weekend there really encouraged us to unplug, get outside, and be present and in the moment. Definitely would go back!

Room Tip: The Birdwood Cabin had a great bay window and balcony overlooking the meadow.
