Booked two day break via Golf Breaks who warned us about change of ownership and actively encouraged us to cancel.
There was no need for us to worry, golf course was fine and the young lad in pro shop was extremely helpful giving us more suitable tee times.
Hotel food was good , particularly breakfast.
Rooms bit dated, no air con and dated furnishings.Bar prices high and bit short staffed in evening.
Overall ideal for golf break but it is not a top of the range hotel at present.

Room Tip: some rooms are very long way from reception.....if thats a problem I would mention when booking

I visited the Meon Valley hotel for my friends wedding, it was disgraceful!
No loo roll in hotel room!
Toilets in the bar were a state!
Bar staff couldn’t change a barrel!
One bar staff to serve 150 guests so took half an hour to get a drink!
Wedding planner went home at about 4pm!
The decorations the bride had brought along weren’t even put out!
They didn’t give the kids any drinks all day (paid for)!
No prosecco with wedding breakfast (paid for)!
Bowl of soup smashed right next to my 4year olds head!
Alarm was going off in the kitchen halfway through speeches!
DJ supplied by the hotel didn’t know the bride and grooms names!
Had to ask several times for the cake to be cut up and offered to guests!
Bottles of beer for reception drinks were given with the lids still on!
No manager available!
The list goes on....I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone! And definitely please do not book your wedding here!!

We had our wedding at the Meon Valley Hotel on Saturday 15th September 2018 and it was a total shambles and utter disaster from start to finish. My new husband, family and I are currently trying to get over the devastation of how utterly awful our wedding was. Months of planning and hard work just turned into a total disaster. The hotel broke every promise they had made us and all we have been dealing with is guest complaints poor service. Thing we had paid for never happened, including guests not being served drinks we had paid for with wedding breakfast, decoration we had spent weeks preparing were left untouched in a meeting room and were not even put out, no staff being available to cater the event, no management being available at all in the hotel, the bar was not stocked and at one point all larger was off for a hour because no member of staff was able to change a barrel? Toilets were filthy, guest room rates were all wrong and the bar tab my father had set up seems to have been accessible by all hotel guests. Our honeymoon suite was a mess and didn't even have loo roll in it or water to drink (We were told we would have a bottle of bubbly waiting which never arrived). The hotel organised our DJ who had also been given a specific playlist my husband and I had spend days making.. he refused to play it!! the list goes on..... We will never be able to look back on our wedding day with the joy we were hoping we would. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone. They have ruined what should of been the happiest day of our lives and we will never get that day back again. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!

Stayed at the hotel Sept 18, for one night.
When checking in on Saturday 4.30pm, we walked into receptionists dealing with three complaints. This meant checking-in took 20 mins. The receptionists appeared harassed and one particularly stressed.
The couple in front of us checking in were told that their room wasn’t ready. Not the best start, I had booked 1x twin room and 1x double. We got 2x doubles. It wasn’t ideal, but it was only for 1 night. With a number of weddings at the hotel, plus golf functions, we were told that they were very busy this weekend.

The room was very tired. With stained mirrors, radiator and walls. Looked like bulb had exploded at some time. The gap around the door to the corridor meant you could hear the guests quite readily walking/ talking down the corridor.
The key card firstly wouldn’t work, it then took 10 goes each time to open.

In general it didn’t make for a great stay.
The pool/ sauna/ steam room was good.
Breakfast was ok too.

We have just come back from a three day golfing break. Having booked it last year, when it was a Marriott we were concerned when advised of the new ownership, especially as we were a party of 32. We had excellent service. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. The hotel is in need of some updating but as we were on the course all day this did not effect us. The spa facilities were good.

We played both courses (Valley course twice) and both are in good condition. The nearest the pins and the buggies were organised on all days so there were no last minute issues for us. We could enough our own golf.
We would certainly go back.
Thank you Meon Valley!
