“Perfect Family holiday”

We had one of our best family holidays in Villa Sophie!
Sophie and Spiros met us on arrival in Kefalonia to show us to the villa and showed the same kindness and welcome throughout our stay. Sophie had cooked some delicious food for us, so 10 minutes after we arrived we were sat outside eating dinner looking at the beautiful views! The villa is very well equipped and generously supplied - the pool and garden area well maintained, with Spiros cleaning the pool every day. Both Sophie and Spiros were great in offering advice on beaches, restaurants, supermarkets etc. The local beaches are beautiful and compared to summer holidays in the Balearics were quiet with lots of space for beach games etc.
Our boys, 6 and 4 keep asking when we are going back!

“I didn't want to leave, can't wait to go back.”
Reviewed 23 September 2016 for a stay in June 2016

I spent two weeks in June this year at Villa Sophie with my sister, brother-in-law and my brother, we had a wonderful holiday. Kefalonia is a beautiful island and Villa Sophie was a real home from home for us to relax in. It had everything we needed, including a dishwasher and it was very tastefully furnished. From the front balcony, where we had our meals Al Fresco, there were lovely views over the garden, pool and the spectacular Mount Aenos. Having the private pool was fabulous, we could take a dip anytime we fancied without wondering how many other people might be in there! The gardens were pretty, with many flowering shrubs and an Olive Tree for additional shade. Within walking distance there were two beaches, Agios Thomas and our favourite, Trapesaki, which was especially lovely in the early morning and evening time. To the front of the villa is a small road with occasional traffic, but it is generally a quiet area, with mostly just the sound of goat bells and the eagles crying overhead.
Our hosts Sophie and Spiros came daily to clean the pool, water the gardens and check that everything was ok with us. Sophie was very friendly, helpful and spoke really good English. She had a good sense of humour, which is just as well, because I couldn't resist trying out my long forgotten French (Franglaise) on her! Spiros, well what can I say, he was slightly bonkers, but in the nicest possible way and he made us laugh a lot, he was such a great character.
I was sad when our fortnight was up, it felt as though Sophie and Spiros were new friends that I was leaving behind. I can't wait to return to Kefalonia and Villa Sophie, our holiday was a truly great experience.

“Beautiful villa”
Reviewed 25 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Vila Sophie is a beautiful villa with amazing views and fabulous pool. It is clean and modern with most things that you would need on a holiday. There is one bathroom on the main living area and one in the basement studio. We were disappointed that there were no pool towels which meant I had to go and buy some. This is the first villa , and I've been to many, that I've had to do this. The other disappointment was the welcome pack which consisted of 2 bottles of water and 1 dishwasher tablet!
Other than these two niggles we had a great holiday. There is a restaurant within walking distance which is quite nice. It took 12 mins to walk there and 20 to walk back as is up hill all the way. A car is essential to go to the local beaches and shops.

“Perfect mixed age Villa”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We went to Kefalonia for a wedding and stayed at Sophie and Spiros's lovely villa. Communication with our hosts was excellent with Sophie arranging car hire (including child and booster seats at no extra cost), meeting us at the airport and guiding us to the villa, as well as preparing a delicious meal for our arrival and buying in our shopping. This was a particular godsend as our plane was seriously delayed on take off.

The villa was ideal for our family as we (the grandparents) had the downstairs annexe opening on to the pool, and the rest of the family had the main areas upstairs. This meant that we could easily stop the very tiny children from going to the poolside without supervision when we needed to, but they could still go out on to the large balcony.

We were given lots of accurate information on beaches, day trips and shopping. The pool was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean.

All in all an excellent holiday and we wish we could have stayed longer!

“Idyllic.”
Reviewed 10 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We have just returned from a 1 week stay at Villa Sophie- it wasn't long enough. We are already planning our return trip next year but for 2 weeks this time!
Sophie and Spiros covered all eventualities before our departure. They had pre arranged car rental for us and met us at the airport to guide the way to Karavados. Sophie had shopped for us before we arrived so we didn't need to hit the supermarket and also brought the most delicious homemade bread for us that had been baked that day.
Villa Sophie is absolutely beautiful and faultless. Extremely well equipped and very clean. Beautifully designed and furnished, both the upstairs floor and the self contained studio apartment below. Our 2 girls aged 12 and 13 loved having their own space in the studio which opened out onto the beautiful pool and gardens, the pool was cleaned each morning by Spiros who is larger than life, such fun and full of information about Kefalonia and Greece itself. Sophie is a lovely person and really helpful giving us lots of tips about places to visit, beaches and tavernas and how to find them.
The location of the villa is perfect: only 10 minutes walk to a lovely little beach and a short drive to other beautiful beaches nearby. The capital, Argostili is only a 20 minute drive away as are the bigger supermarkets.
We frequently saw eagles soaring overhead and loved sitting out on the balcony in an evening looking out over the mountain and at the idyllic night sky.
Not only did Sophie and Spiros ensure we had a wonderful stay, they also invited us to their beautiful home where we drank wine, sampled Greek delicacies and we now consider that we have true friends in Kefalonia.
