We stayed at Villa Athermigo for four days, wonderful days!
The quietness and peace of the lovely hotel has found a perfect match in Kelly, the hostess,. She is discreet but very present, helpful, competent.
We highly recommend this unique spot very near Chania.
Everything was perfect in this lovely place. Beautiful garden and pool, very comfortable room.
Kelly was very friendly and helpful, she gave us lots of advice on what to do in the area.
I will recommend the place to all my friends travelling in Crète.
The house is completely renovated, by keeping the old building, but with all the confort you need. The houses and the environment are very clean. Just the swimming pool in not heated and very cold in April. Kelly is very nice, the breakfast that she serves is just amazing. Every day fresh fruit, bread, vegetables, cheese, jam........ She is at your disposal for suggesting the best restaurants in the neighborhood and the interesting things to visit.
This is one of the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The staff was so helpful. The accommodations very well appointed. The location, off the path a little bit but well worth the extra travel. Stay he if you get a chance,

We stayed in the wonderful Villa Rodia, one of three villas that make up Athermigo. The villas have been named after the three trees outside the various houses, Pomegranate, Olive and Walnut. We believe that our villa was the largest of the three having an upstairs and downstairs and two bathrooms. It's the perfect size for a family of 4 or two couples sharing as the spaces are quite private. The design of this place is simply stunning. Detail is the most important thing and this has been used in full force here. Rodia has the most charming terrace which comes off the top floor and gets the sun from lunchtime till evening.
The garden here is stunning, plenty of areas within the grounds for you to relax in privacy. Fruit and nut trees in all directions and the beautiful flowers here were cut for us and in a vase on our arrival and changed once during our 5 nights. The pool is long and has a jacuzzi in one corner, attended to every other day and kept clean and tidy. Even if the other villa's are occupied you will never feel over crowded here, there is so much space and it's so still and peaceful.
The common area is large and used to be where the olives were pressed, it's a stunning place and has a large lounge with fire place, a round table to eat at if you wish to and local wine on tap, literally you could help yourself and enjoy. It was the strongest wine we have ever tasted and was more like Cherry or Port but it was lovely that it was there to enjoy.
One of the best things you will find at Athermigo is the lovely and very hospitable Eleni who looked after us so very well. She lives in the local village and has lots of knowledge about the local area and things to do. She will ask what time you want your breakfast and it will be ready at that time. If you want eggs a special way she will do it that way...the attention to detail and the personal side of how she treated her guests was what makes this place really stand out. We went to walk a gorge one day and she made us some sandwiches and banana's for the trip. We joked at how nice a Gin and Tonic would be in the middle of a morning by the pool, 30 minutes later she brought some out for us. We were so shocked.
We loved our stay here, the villa is 30 minutes from both Chania and Rethmyno so you can visit both towns in the evenings for dinner or to visit. The Imbros Gorge is only 45 minutes south and the beaches are all close by, you will have an amazing time here guaranteed. We hope to be back sometime soon. Many thanks to Aliki and Eleni for all your help.
