“Stunning Retreat”
Reviewed 30 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This is our second time back to Villa Amapola and certainly won't be our last. We love it here. Its the most beautiful house we've stayed in and has wonderful views, different sitting and eating areas. The area and views by the pool were stunning. The house is well equipped for all your needs. A wonderful CD collection, book collection, kitchen is fabulous with tons of space and wonderful views while you are cooking. We really did not want to go anywhere when we were here. Only to buy food as you feel completely closed off from the outside world here and almost never want to return.
Shane and Bea were fantastic hosts and are on hand to recommend places to eat and places to go, already planning our next trip!

“What can we say, the house and views surpassed any place that we’ve stayed in before.”
Reviewed 1 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The homely atmosphere and eclectic mix of artworks and ornaments has made this brief visit an extremely happy time for all of us. We spent many a night in the fantastic kitchen playing games, listening to music and drinking too much of the local wine! The only negative thing I can think of is that it’s going to be extremely difficult to book a holiday location as beautiful as this again and such a lovely house will be near impossible to find.
We will all leave here having very fond memories of an idyllic holiday that will stay with us for many a year. Thank you again for letting us stay in your fantastic home!

“Stunning Location, tastefully furnished, comfortable, well equipped villa with friendly helpful owners.”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This beautiful villa is a real find, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is furnished in a tasteful traditional style, with oodles of character, spacious and very comfortable and would be suitable for a holiday at any time of the year even if you wanted to go walking out of season, the villa would work well. It is so much more than the usual sterile holiday rental. The Kitchen is so well equipped, it would satisfy even the keenest 'foodie' who loves to cook whilst away.
The views from the villa are so stunning with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy them, the pool is wonderful and kept very clean by its owners, for the first time ever no one has returned home with an ear infection.
Periana is a few miles away and is a pretty hilltop town with a few nice bars/restaurants, a small supermarket and chemist, there are also a few good restaurants slightly nearer to the villa. It is also in a good location to go for sightseeing day trips.
It should be noted a car is essential, and the track up to the villa is very bumpy so bare this in mind when booking car hire.
Overall, a fantastic holiday, in an excellent villa, with caring owners.

“Heaven in the hills”
Reviewed 5 April 2014 for a stay in September 2013

La Amapola is one of the best villas we have stayed in on holiday. While some villas are comfortable but ugly, pretty but cramped, with shiny bathrooms but a kitchen with nothing in it, or noisy or - my bugbear - with a tiny pool instead of something to actually swim in - La Amapola has it all. Large, beautiful with amazing views and an attractive nearby white village with a decent local restaurant, and a short trip down the hill to the coast - we all loved it and could hardly bear to leave. In fact, if the house were for sale, I would buy it! Peaceful and perfect.
