My wife and i decided to visit the Cape as part of our 30th wedding anniversary celebrations and we were joined by our closest friends who were celebrating their 25th anniversary, from the outset it exceeded our expectations. Staying in Long Street, Cape Town visiting Hermanus and fortunately finding the Birkenhead Brewey situated in Stanton. The Brewery really is a great place to visit if you are in the local region and want to sample local craft beer from source. The staff at the Birkenhead were some of the warmest and friendliest people we met during our time spent in the region, Paul the Manager and Angela the assistant Manager certainly have the people skills necessary for making the guests to the brewery feel welcome. The highlight for me was the the tour being offered as part of the brewery and tasting experience.I must admit though the standard glass size used as part of the selected beer tasting post the beer making process tour and overview took me by surprise they are very generous, and after sampling if my memory serves me right 6 different types of beer in a relatively short period of time you know you had a pleasant experience. The Birkenhead had a limited selection of lunches listed on the menu however between the 4 off us in our party we certainly sampled a variety on offer and were all very impressed with the quality of the food prepared and offered by the team there. Location is beautiful and the surrounding scenery was stunning this would be a great venue for parties of people who like me are fond of craft beer and a huge thumbs up to the team at Birkenhead keep the beer flowing and other than adding to the variety on the menu for lunches you are certainly a great advertisement for the Stanford area of the Cape. We will definitely return in the near future.
