We added this to the end of our trip after experiencing some Safari's. I am surprised at the glowing reviews as we felt this place was rather run down. It's very rustic and one of the rooms smelled very musty and damp - it was pretty bad. I caution you to be careful what time of year you go - it was a bit cold when we went and the wood stove fire kept going out at night. Also, be careful with this place if you are not a sound sleeper. It can get really loud with the wind at night. We did not sleep either night we were there because the wind was whipping so loudly it felt like we were in the middle of a hurricane. The meal portions were also very small and the menu very limited - you basically just eat whatever they decide to make for the night (they don't ask you)so if there is a type of food you don't like make sure to let them know upfront so they can cook you something alternative. Overall we just walked away with a feeling that this place wasn't doing that well. We always leave very nice tips but you could tell the staff was all over us to make sure we left a tip which sort of left us feeling a big weirded out. It's a beautiful area but I feel like this lodge might be going downhill and could either use a management change or some cash infusion for upgrades.
