Review of Mtubatuba B&B
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 Nov 2015
I used this guesthouse regularly in 2014 and 2015, this was one of my favorite as I frequently travelled in KZN. Despite the clean rooms, and wonderful dinners, the best experience was the friendly staff who went out of the way to ensure that the guest is comfortable.
Date of stay: March 2015
Room Tip: Newer rooms with the views to the pond are great and spacious

We went to Marula Place for the 7th time now. it is everytime like coming home. Nice luxury rooms with airconditioning and the most friendly people. Breakfast is outstanding and if you want to eat dinner it is well worth staying there. It is very close to a gamepark (Impholozi) and only 20 min drive from the beach in St.Lucia were you can also take a boat tour to see the hippo's. There are shops close buy. And not ot forget it is a very safe area to stay and travel around. People are very nice and helpfull.

Room tip: Ask for the honeymoon suite if it is free. It is beautiful!

We had not pre booked our accommodation at the B &B and only arrived after 5 , we were given a warm reception on the phone and a huge amount of patience in giving us directions, we arrived to a wonderful welcome and our room was an awesome cool retreat after a hot day traveling, nice tea and coffee in the room , clean cotton sheets and a lovely big clean bathroom , we woke up to a seriously hearty breakfast. I will definitely recommend this place it was worth every cent .

Absolutely beautiful b&b to stay. Rooms were absolutely beautiful; loved the lake view, hot water bottles, and gorgeous furnishings. I had a bubble bath nearly every night! The people were lovely and packed us a delicious breakfast (freshly baked scones!) to go. Location is very near town with the supermarket walking distance.

We even left some belongings there and they tracked us down later in the day to return it to us! Stay here if you're in the area!

I have had the opportunity to stay at this B&B for a few evenings while living in the area temporarily for work, and have found it an absolute delight. The hosts are warm and welcoming, and the place is beautiful. Each room is tastefully decorated in its own unique style, and the extensive gardens are magical. My two favorites are the red room upstairs in the main house and the executive suite in the side building. In the hot northern KwaZulu-Natal summer, a day spent relaxing near their cool pool under the palm trees is idyllic. I've had dinner on a couple of my stays, and the food was delicious My nights there always felt like a perfect, peaceful escape. I would definitely highly recommend the Mtuba B&B to friends!

I last stayed at Mtuba B'B in March 2010, and have stayed there on a number of occasions over the last two years. I've always enjoyed excellent, friendly service, luxurious comfort in the rooms, and gourmet food. I'm looking forward to going back for another visit next year. In particular I've enjoyed interacting with the staff at Mtuba B&B who I've always found to be attentive, intelligent and sensitive to requests and needs, which can't be said for many tourist spots in South Africa.
