We travelled in a group (family) as stayed this place for a couple of nights, the concept is good, the staffs are nice and food is good. We like the idea os staying in the desert at an isolated location with just a short five-minute drive to the turtle reserve, however, there is nothing to do except waiting for your turn to visit the turtle beach.
Suggestions: being advertised as family accommodation, they should add some activities for kids, provide basic wi-fi connectivity, CC payment options, and some basic amenities in all kind of rooms like a refrigerator, coffee maker, mirror, a chair & table, while carrying the same concept.
Overall good concept and nice stay, can do better.

The place looks and feels like in the middle of nowhere. Nice friendly welcome when arriving but had a bit of a discussion on pay method - wanted to take pic of credit card but asked we pay cash at the same time ...a bit confusing ! Rooms are individual huts , spacious and clean, with very comfortable beds but unfortunately, no lamp/light by the bed side, only two low intensity light lamps hanging from the ceiling ( and it gets dark very early!) . Dinner and breakfast , basic but correct , served in adjacent traditionally decorated open hut.
There s nothing to do or see except waiting for “your turn” to go see the turtles.

The resort was formally the Al Naseem Camp which used to have very bad TripAdvisor reviews under the previous owners. In October 2019 it was taken over by the Sama group who have upmarket accomodation elsewhere in Oman. Since then they have started a renovation and expansion programme. The standard chalets have been refurbished and they have also built ten new deluxe chalets, with plans for a further ten. We stayed in a deluxe room.
They offer spacious and comfortable accommodation although they do give the impression of being not quite finished. There is actually very little furniture in the room for its size, two quite low power ceiling lights and no bedside lighting. The floors are bare wood planks. There are no mirrors in the bedroom, only in the bathroom which has no electric points but on request they will supply a long electrical adaptor and hair dryer if required.
The bathroom is to the back of the chalet and is partially open air by design (some chalets have a different configuration and are fully enclosed). We think there are plans to lay mosquito netting across this open space although this wasn’t a problem during our stay. The room is equipped with air conditioning, a refrigerator and a kettle, although tea and coffee is also always available throughout the day in the main dining area. The bathroom is a shower over bath arrangement and there was always a plentiful supply of hot water. One disappointing feature was the absence of any housekeeping during our stay, so no emptying of bins or replacement of our wet towels, although reception happily provided dry clean towels for us.
The dining area while covered is open air but was sufficiently warm enough during our stay provided light coats or sweaters were worn. We had dinner and breakfast here on two nights, The first night was a plated meal due to low number of guests, the second day they had more guests and changed to a buffet arrangement. Food was good and although they don’t ask about dietary requirements, we are guessing this would not be a problem if advised beforehand.
There is a pleasant outdoor seating area at the front of each deluxe chalet, the dining room also has a typical Omani carpeted area with cushions for relaxing. Important to highlight that at present there are no other facilities and the resort is completely wifi free so bring a good book if you are intending to spend time on site.
The resort is conveniently located just a short five minute drive to the turtle reserve and about 40 minutes by car from Sur. The location is completely isolated, with no other buildings nearby and as a result the dark night sky is superb when the weather is clear. We enjoyed our two nights in what felt like splendid isolation. A great ‘get away from it all' place.
Hopefully the ‘rough edges’ will disappear as the new owners continue to upgrade the site.
