We stayed in No.5 Ardgroom Holiday Village last week. We booked for 7 days and left on the 5th. Why? Okay the weather was bad but..........
The house which is very spacious is not suitable for a family with young children, as the floors are wooden and very slippy, so for kids running around in bare feet/socks - it can be dangerous.
There are no blinds on the downstairs windows front or back, so in the morning you are exposed to everyone walking past the house.
The house is in a beautiful area but if you are trapped in the house by bad weather like we were then its actually not comfortable - its cold, the leather suite is cold and uncomfortable, the TV only shows 3 channels, and the one upstairs is not connected. There is a load of small niggly things that contribute to making the house uncomfortable - only 2 loo rolls left, having to pay €30 for electricity for 5 days which I wouldn't spend in a month at home, broken shower head in one shower etc etc.
The house is fine if you a group of adults who will be spending most of your time out enjoying the lovely area but just not great for families. Maybe I'm being unreasonable but when I pay over €500 for a weeks self catering, I expect a place nicer or the equivalent to my own.More
