Lovely experience in the desert. Nelson, our tour guide from the lodge was excellent. His knowledge was superb & his dedication to guiding was top class. The lodge has beautiful views of the Namib. We will definitely return once the roads are up graded a bit.

Good afternoon, thanking you for taking the time to review our Namib Naukluft Lodge and our activities. We are happy, that you enjoyed your stay with us. And we have good news. A private investor has agreed to upgrade the roads in the South of Namibia. The meeting takes place on the 08/10/19 and we hope, that the grading will still be done this year! So see you next time! With kindest regards -

It is about a 3.5 to 4 hrs. drive from Windhoek to the lodge but give it more time to enjoy the birds and wildlife you will spot. We had never seen a minimalistic landscape such as this and stopped often. At the lodge we were first greeted by the resident springbok, which turned all of us into excited kids. Dinner is under the stars and Jupiter was shining bright. The next morning we had an early start after a continental breakfast and then it is a one hour drive to Sesriem – we got there when the gates opened around 7:30. By the time we returned to the lodge it was 4pm and they had kept our lunch waiting for us – I assume they are used to guests returning from the dunes at odd hours –I think that was very accommodating. The spot where we had lunch overlooks a small watering hole and attracted a herd of oryx. It was exciting to see them so close and they also keep an eye on you. If you try to maneuver for a better angle, they beat a hasty retreat. The grounds are also interesting with native trees that are named. We did a sun-downer drive to Marble Mountains which was about fifteen minutes from the lodge. The desert was still and silent as the sun went down. The white marble was awash in a pink glow. Savanna Dry never tasted better. I wish I had not rushed in and out of this lodge - had very little down time here to appreciate the peaceful setting.
The single room was comfortable. Plenty of place to unpack. Bathroom was large. EU and South Africa type M plug points. Visited mid-June.

Room tip: Higher number rooms are further away from the main lodge and parking.

The location of this lodge, set besides a rocky hill facing out to the vast horizons is wonderful. The rooms are okay. The food was tasty but the service was not as good as it should have been. There is wifi in the lobby.

Very suggestive location on the edge of the desert. A beautiful starry sky and absolute silence. The rooms were spacious and the barbecue dinner was excellent. Breakfast is also very good. On our arrival in the afternoon we were served cakes and tea.

Around only desert and gravel roads, but the place is fantastic, quiet, panoramic.
The rooms have a little dated furniture, but in the room you only go to sleep, the outside is tremendously beautiful and charming.
Dinners are also organized outside in a corner dedicated to grilling and displaying dishes.
The staff is very kind and extremely helpful.

Staff is very friendly. The food is okay. Nice BBQ/Stews at the BBQ pit, or you'll have a dinner at the restaurant. Food price is very fair. The room prices are high. Location to Sossusvlei is two hours drive. WiFi only in the lobby (and still poor). It's in the outback you know :-).
