We stayed in November 2018 and we had a wonderful time. The staff's service was out of the ordinary. Quick, friendly, service-minded, thorough and they took time to talk to us guests. The food at the Spice House was delicious - even the garnish was thought out to suit the rest of the food/enhance the taste of the food. We will recommend everyone we know to stay at Cassia Cottage on their trip to Phu Quoc!

We booked Cassia Cottage for two nights, one of them being my birthday. I loved a lot about this resort and would recommend it. It's such a peaceful retreat.

When you get there and start the tour of the grounds with a staff member, you realize that it's a special place that cares about the environment (they grow their own vegetables, avoid chemicals, etc.) The three pools are great and the beach is small but nice. There were plenty of places to find a chair to relax in. I swam in the ocean and really enjoyed it. The restaurant has good food and very nice staff. Our room was large and had an outdoor shower with a frog that definitely was messing with us because he ended up jumping to the shower head and made it a little stressful to shower!

They offer free yoga and a little library of books that you can borrow from during your stay. It's the type of place you will want to relax with a book!

The things that brought the score down to four included:

My husband and I booked spa services offered on-site. He got a massage that he thought was excellent. I booked a manicure and pedicure. I would recommend not doing that. I feel badly saying that because the woman seemed nice but the polishes are of such poor quality that the woman doing my nails was dissuading me from using the color I used on my nails for my toes. It was that bad. She was pointing me towards colors I would never choose. My nails were so bad that I went to town and bought nail polish remover and took it right off. Also, feet are submerged in a small bowl so it's fairly uncomfortable. Finally, the woman was sitting on a small stool that was almost on the ground so I had to bend down to give her my hands. It was just a bad set up and I wish the resort would help her out with new polishes and a proper chair! I felt terrible the whole time. She did a great job with my cuticles and none of this was her fault.

The other issue was my husband went to the trouble of emailing back and forth with the resort for a special surprise birthday dessert for me. They either forgot or lost the notes because no one knew what he was talking about and he was disappointed that he had to tell them about it in front of me. He had even agreed by email on a certain message on the dessert for me but that was lost too. They made up for it with a delicious dessert and the staff sang to me so it worked out in the end.

If given the option I would return to Cassia!

Room tip: Check and see if your room has an outdoor shower so you know that going in.

Yikes! Sorry about the recommendation of nail polish colours. We'll look into their quality asap. The ladies like the low stools though - Vietnam style - but we can adapt next time.

Do come and visit us again. We'll roll up our sleeves and get to work. Hopefully gain that final score to a perfect 5.

This most have been the best trip me and my partner has been on ever! The hotel is perfect for two weeks of vacationing and catching up on reading the books you otherwise never get to read.

The restaurant (Spice house) had some of the best food we ate on the trip - the staff working there really did EVERYTHING for us and helped us feel welcome and happy all day long.

I can really recommend the Chef special curry and the Lavacake from the menu.

Room tip: Choose the premium rooms with outdoor showers!

We arrived to Cassia Cottage in Phu Quoc after intensive 10 days travel in Vietnam.
and found a magical resort and staff.

It’s location is perfect and it has a private beach and 3 pools..
Our room was hugh and has an outside shower in a small private garden.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was tasty and the Coctail’s were fun.
The Sunset is a must !!

Highly recommend this resort !

This hotel is really great. The grounds are beautiful and spread out in a way where it never feels crowded. We were honestly completely underwhelmed with phu quoc island itself, compared to Thailand and Philippines islands, but cassia cottage saved the day in that its high level of quality made up for what is otherwise a somewhat ordinary beach destination. The hotel quality can't be understated, from breakfast, to the restuarant, to the pools, to the bar. Really great staff, and just an all around enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this hotel. If going to phu quoc it is worth staying here 100%.
