We stayed at Linyanti Bush Camp, and it was magical! The camp was beautiful, and the team was wonderful! Our guide, Chester, was FANTASTIC! He became family and we miss him dearly! We even saw a pangolin which was insane! Shoutout to KG for amazing bedtime stories and always making us laugh! The camp was intimate and everyone made us feel so special! Thank you, ABC Team!

We have just returned from 8 nights in Botswana across two African Bush Camps (ABC) Khwai Leadwood and Linyanti.

This review is for Linyanti where we spent a memorable 4 nights (2 in Linyanti Bushcamps and 2 in Linyanti Ebony which is next door)

What made Linyanti truly special was the staff who went above and beyond in taking care of every need. Our guide, DT was exceptional. He made every effort to give us the best experience both in terms of sightings and imparting knowledge of the bush. A couple of instances in which he truly came through- one was a day trip to Savuti which is a long drive from Linyanti with an early morning start. The same night he took us for a night safari in Linyanti. It was truly a long day for him and he still showed up next day for the early morning drive with undiminished enthusiasm and energy.
Our hostess was Evelyn and she was always warm and gracious. Her managerial and communication skills are very good and she made sure our stay was comfortable and all our requirements were met. My son has some dietary requirements (gluten free) and two of us are vegetarian and Evelyn with the help of chef Yum Yum and chef Andrew made sure each of us had a variety of delicious dishes for every meal.

On the last day they arranged a beautiful lunch for us in our room balcony which was a really touching gesture. The dishes cooked by chef Yum Yum were exceptional and the combination of the good food and fantastic views (elephants, impalas etc) made the meal most memorable.

Finally on Sightings, we had a great experience. We saw almost all the main animals with particularly good lion sightings - 4 male lions, one male Lion roaring right next to our jeep, male stalking female lion, lions eating bufallo etc. We saw hundreds of elephants, buffaloes, and impalas, numerous zebras, giraffes, kudu, baboons, warthogs, waterbuck, hippos, crocodiles etc and a huge variety of birds (we counted over 50 types!). What was cute was that many of the animals had their young ones which was really fun to watch.

We also saw the very rare pangolin and DT dashed across the park like a formula 1 race driver when he was alerted that a pangolin had been spotted at the other end of the park- our kids thoroughly enjoyed it!

In Savuti we saw lioness with 8 cubs, leopard, roan antelope along with the usual game.

Night safari- 2 lions lying on the jeep tracks, hyena, bat eared foxes, civet, genet, spring hares and a clear amazing starlit night sky!

We want to recognize the following staff at Linyanti - Dina, Cici, Spha and Ronny. We also want to recognize Candace Gain who was the consultant who interacted with my husband and put together this itinerary for us. She was always available and answered every question we had. We had visited African Bush Camps lodged in Zimbabwe in 2019 (Mana Pools and Somalisa), and they were both amazing but our family wholeheartedly agrees that there was something truly special and magical about Linyanti. Thank you everyone in Linyanti and ABC for a memorable family holiday!

First a few details that may help. We are a family of 6 adults and booked our holiday through Rhino Africa (the awesome Bianca) who have a close relationship with African Bush Camps (ABC) who operate the Linyanti Bush Camp. LBC was our second stop (after Chobe Bakwena Lodge) on the holiday and the first stop with ABC.
Firstly, a little about the camp (things I wanted to know when choosing a camp). The Linyanti Bush Camp has 6 rooms (luxury tents) and a central dinning, bar and social area. The rooms are very well laid out and have everything you need. Each room has a balcony which looks out over the Linyanti wetland and is awesome for sundowners, game watching, chill time or just relaxing and reading a book between game drives, game walks and helicopter rides. The early morning breakfasts are basic but have everything you need considering its 5:30am in the morning and you are just about to head out into the bush. Lunch and Dinner are excellent with lots to choose from and good size portions. Three of our party are gluten intolerant which was no issues at all for the team and they had lots of selections to choose from.

The bush and the team are EXCELLENT. The safaris (Drives and walks) were simply AWESOME. Our guides Dutch and DT are absolute LEGENDS. Their knowledge of the bush, plants and animals was superb which made every drive an experience and an education. We lived in Africa for 10 years and I can honestly say I learned more about the bush in these 3 days at Linyanti than I did in those 10 years. Time management is always a challenge on holiday however I believe they got it right with the balance between safari time and downtime. I could go on forever how do you put into wording the incredible emotions and experiences you get from spending time with the ones you love in a place that takes your breath away.

The team - my best way of explaining the team is to say - it was like a family away from home, they went out of their way to help us build memories we will relive as a family every time to get together and stories we will tell our children. I’m not sure I can say much more, except THANK YOU

I can honestly say writing this review is one of the hardest things to do – and my only advice would be – if you are thinking of doing this – JUST DO IT, you will not regret it.

Our 1st family safari and what an amazing experience.
We stayed at Linyanti Ebony which was fabulous. The quality of the lodges/tents the location and wilderness left us in awe.
All staff are friendly and attentive. Eleanor our hostess, Chester our experienced and passionate guide, Yum Yum the chef, Dinah and all the other staff treated us as family and friends.
The food was delicious and so beautifully presented that we felt like being in 5* restaurant at every meal.
Because we stayed in July, middle of winter the mornings and evenings were very cold ,so take really warm clothes.
In the jeeps we were given blankets and bush babies (hot water bottles) which was a lovely touch.
We had fabulous sightings of lions, zebra, giraffes, buffalo, baboons, hippos and so many elephants we lost count.
We really can't fault anything. Absolutely everything was amazing. Thank you so much Linyanti Ebony team.

Room tip: If you go in July take really warm clothing for the game drives.

Wonderful camp, great game viewing and fantastic guide, Dutch. The service was fantastic, the staff so warm and welcoming. The food was by and large excellent and the tents were comfortable and luxurious for a tent! Loved this camp and would absolutely recommend it without hesitation. Would love to return!

Room tip: Bring plenty of layers as mornings and evenings are very cold.
