Want a nice compromise between roughing it in a tent and a too-luxe experience that would spoil the kids? Want to go “off the grid”? This is the perfect alternative! Does not feel like Kruger “Disneyland” or a curated park - so the guides have to work extra hard to track down the animals.

The worst wifi out of all 3 camps (it doesn’t work well when it rains or when it’s cloudy and its only available at the gift shop )
Early March is probably the perfect time for birds although very green and lush - which makes it difficult to track down animals. Hornbills and “roadrunners” greet you at every turn. Glowbugs light yo the nights. Passing showers even in mid March but they blew over very quickly. Amazing camp for elephants which you can find in the evenings.

Elephants (my absolute fav and the encounters with them are the highlight of my trip)

Pros: The people! Lebo and Esse are both amazing - such hospitality! Esse is hands down the best guide I have encountered on multiple trips to africa that include &beyond and even Singita camps. Esse knowledge and determination to somehow track down all the elusive animals really made the kids first safari trip “perfect” Chef Yum Yum- we loved your food! In the green season - we somehow managed to see every single animal linyanti had to offer
Cons: Many insects everywhere! Even in our beds! Water smells odd and shower drainage poor - it did feel completely at odds with prior accommodation thorntree also part of africa bushcamps

Tip: Ask for Esse as your guide - you absolutely won’t regret it

We visited Linyanti Bush Camp in September 2019 as a group of four and it was a fantastic experience. Lebo was a superb hostess who was extremely kind to my friend who found the safari experience quite difficult. The staff were fun and attentive and we loved listening to their stories. The barbecue around the campfire and the singing by the staff were highlights . Esse’s knowledge was extraordinary and he was extremely patient with our endless questions. We saw all the animals on our wish list and tracked a leopard after a kill. Although this camp was less luxurious than our previous camp ( a ceiling fan in the room would have been appreciated as the days were very hot), it was still very comfortable. This was by far our best experience in Africa. Botswana is an incredible country.
