I went with my son to this camp and it was absolutely Marvellous- so well organised - we loved the evening outside when the staff sung
It was very cold on the morning and evening but we were supplied with hot water bottles and ponchos when we went out on the drives
Cassie the manager was so nice and helpful - nothing was too much trouble

I recently spent 3 days at Linyanti Bush Camp and was so sad to leave.
What makes the camp so remarkable is the genuine kindness and caring of it’s wonderful staff.
Cassie was our hostess and her great sense of humor and calm ease was much appreciated. Evelyn was always on hand to help see that we were fed on time and ready for our game drives.
Patro our amazingly talented chef kept us well fed.
Last but least was our pal 007 and Mighty.... wonderful, warm and thoughtful guides.
What I truly LOVED about Linyanti is the staff. Genuine, smart, attentive people with hearts of gold!
Oh and the hot H20 bottles at night were a great touch.

We stopped at 6 camps during our three week safari in Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. Linyante was our third camp and the second ABC camp (we started in Somalisa Camp) so some of the comparisons are to Somalisa Camp. The flight from Kasane was just 4 passengers in a Cessna Caravan so it was not cramped and was smoother than in a smaller plane. Landed at around 3p and got to camp about 4p. Being greeted by the staff singing was a very nice welcome. Even though the tents were not as fancy as the ones at Somalisa, they were still very nice - main differences were size, not being able to drink the water from the tap and no charging station in the room (we used the one in the main common tent). Our hostess here, Dudu, was equally pleasant as Egania and equally on top of everything. Our guide, Esse, was a bit younger but still very knowledgable, personable and low key. The staff here had a great vibe (as in Somalisa) and were always present and joking with each other. Although it did not rain directly on the camp, there were thunderstorms near enough that the elephants did not come down to the water so again we missed out on that experience. The game drives were not as bountiful as those in Somalisa (but better than in Muchenje) but we still saw some interesting game including a large herd of cape buffalo and three leopard sightings (two sightings were of the same individual in a sausage tree with what was left of its prey). On one evening, dinner was in the nearby boma and it was preceded by the staff performing some songs and dance followed by a bush BBQ - at the end of that meal, the staff presented one couple with a cake for their 30th anniversary - it was very tasty. On our last day, at the end of the afternoon game drive, all the vehicles met for a group sundowner down by the marsh - a very nice touch. That evening, Dudu surprised us with a private dinner table set up by the pool to celebrate our anniversary - we even had our own waiter, George. Add all that to the 30-minute scenic helicopter ride and it was an enjoyable stay even if the game viewing was not that strong.

We stayed 3 nights at Linyanti Ebony during our 10-day Botswana trip, and had a great time. Linyanti Ebony has space for 10 guests, and is the smaller, more recent addition to the Linyanti Bush Camp, which is just a 5 min walk away, and appears just as nice. We loved Ebony’s comfortable, large tent cabins overlooking the water and grasslands, the huge and very comfortable beds, and stunning surroundings. Mighty the guide was excellent, taking us on some phenomenal game drives, including one into Chobe Park. He went the extra mile in making sure we did what we wanted to do, and he and the “birder” member of our group (who celebrated a birthday during our stay and was feted nicely by the team) had a great time looking up birds in their bird books to confirm our sightings – we saw over 100 different bird species. There were also other phenomenal animal sightings including a huge buffalo herd, elephants, lions, giraffe, packs of mongoose, wild dogs (with a second sighting of the dogs right at the air strip on our departure – just after they made a kill), etc. We also met and liked the other guides – Esse (the planet/stars lover, who helped research the large meteor we saw fall through the sky at the end of one evening game drive – incredible sight); James 007; and the others, and managers Cassie and Action, Biznuz, and the rest of the team. Linyanti Ebony has a lovely lodge/dining area, small pool on a deck off the main area, nice open lounge, all beautifully decorated and furnished. Meals are served in different areas, to mix it up: pre-game drive breakfast (porridge, toast, yogurt, fruit, cheese, meat, cereal, tea/coffee) is around the fire with a view, brunch is in the main dining room, dinners are in the dining area or front of the lodge, or in the large boma, or out on the deck. We enjoyed our private dinner for four on the main lounge area deck on our last night. Tea/coffee, drinks, snacks were also offered on the game drives, when we had time (we were sometimes so busy with the animals that we didn’t stop). Another highlight of this lodge is the scenic helicopter flight they offer – a fantastic 30-min trip flying over the grasslands and waterways seeing the animals and scenery from above. We had a huge elephant eating and wandering around just outside our tent room one night, which kept us up watching him in the moonlight. We loved it all. Thanks Mighty and Linyanti team!

Hi Jliss,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at Linyanti Ebony. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time on safari with African Bush Camps. It sounds as though you had an absolutely phenomenal time in the bush! Secluded and remote and away from the crowds, Linyanti Ebony is our secret paradise tucked away in the Chobe Enclave. Unrivaled remoteness and space form the backdrop of the spectacular scenery which sits in contrast to the Okavango Delta. The area offers spectacular birding all year round and is best known for its large herds of elephants that move down to the Linyanti River at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the main rains arrive. How amazing that you got to see wild dogs- they are a favorite of ours and such fascinating, social creatures to observe. The helicopter ride is always a hit as it offers a bird's eye view over the beautiful patchwork of open floodplains, dense forests and papyrus-lined lagoons and something more than a 'standard' safari.
I will be sure to pass on your kind words to the team in camp. It was lovely to have you as our guest and we hope that you come back and visit again soon!
Until then, take care and very best wishes,
The African Bush Camps Team

My time at Linyanti was incredible. My guide James was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He made sure that we always got the pics we wanted while making us feel safe and entertained. We even got to do mini night drives on the way back to camp for dinner.

The game itself was inspiring. While driving through the beautiful country, we spotted elephants, hyenas, hippos, baboons, giraffe, crocodile, honey badgers, owls, even the first herd of buffalo of the season, and so much more.

The camp itself was beautiful. The cabins were luxurious overlooking the river and across to Namibia. I could have lunch and see hippos off in the distance and beautiful birds landing all around. At night, you listen to the hippos and lions. KB and the rest of the staff spoil you from the second you arrive.

I’ve been to several camps, and Linyanti will always be special to me.
