Having heard that many people found Oistins too much, absolutely loved it the food here is amazing! The people are great and so friendly drinks are of a good price and police are around everywhere to keep people safe! Highly recommend a visit to Oistins on a Friday night you don’t need anymore than a few hours here unless you plan to party until the early hours. Many wacky backy sellers so be wary and have your wits about yourself as I was approached many times but a simple no gets then to leave you alone!

Well worth a visit and I would definitely come again!

Although really popular with tourists Oistins is also very popular with locals too and it’s all about music, dancing and food, and the later it gets the louder and busier it becomes.

Personally my advice is to get there early around 7pm and choose where you want to eat. It’s not overly intrusive but you do get menus offered to you from every restaurant. There is lots of choice, from little stalls/huts to restaurants with seating. But don’t expect anything too formal as it’s all paper plates and cutlery to plastic chairs.

You also don’t need to dress up, the casual the better. Unless you’re planning on partying late into the night, two hours is plenty to spend here. The later it gets the busier it becomes and the atmosphere changes a little to a more hardcore party place so not for everyone.

It’s definitely worth experiencing, but get there early and make sure you have a taxi pre booked to meet you and get you back to your hotel.

Enjoy!
