This is a fabulous place to stay for those who wish to avoid the crazy throng of the Patong area. A secluded little slice of paradise with a private beach and a regular free shuttle service to Kantary Bay where there are really good little restaurants and street vendors and cheap.
Although it is a very large resort and a little tired in places, it doesn’t feel overcrowded or impersonal.
There are several bars and restaurants - Otters bar stands out with its location on top of the point and commanding views over the bay. Very pleasant to sip a Margarita or two out on the expansive deck area.
Cape Panwa house located on the private beach is a gorgeous old building with a restaurant ( we found the food a bit ordinary)but lovely to wander through to experience a past era. Another very picturesque setting - the palm studded area beside Panwa House and along the private beach front is an amazing place to relax and recharge on the deck chairs. There is also a beach bar restaurant that serves pricey but great food.
It’s an hour from Patong by taxi and 40 mins to Old Phuket town which is a real gem. Make sure you are there for the Sunday walking street markets.
The only problem is the lack of fly screening on all rooms. Make sure you bring mozzie repellant and wear at all times.More
