The property is situated in a quiet cul de sac, but not far from the A9 and only a short drive to the centre of the Cairngorms. We spent the week walking in our favourite area of Scotland and every evening relaxing back at base, which was well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Even though we had been out in the hills every day, we still wandered out for an evening stroll to nearby Loch Inch, you literally have wildlife right on the doorstep.
We liked this house and location so much last year that we returned this year. The house is cosy and comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed for a family of five plus dog. The kids could walk down to Loch Insh without crossing any roads, which we loved. Perfect base for Loch Insh water sports, Highland Safari Park, Ruthven Barracks, Heritage Museum and a few minutes' drive from Aviemore and Kingusie. The sitting room is spacious and has two big windows so lots of light. The kitchen/diner is open plan so whoever is cooking can chat with people sitting at the table at the same time. Thanks Lindsay for another lovely stay.
Well located with a woodland surround and everything you need. Plenty of space and the very welcome two bathrooms! The kitchen and dining room area was lovely and spacious, so no tripping over each other and a lovely view out of the window while you eat.
We were visited by a wide variety of wildlife, with a hedgehog passing through and plenty of squirrels and bumbles. A wonderful retreat.
Ideal tor exploring the Cairngorms. Many activities and attractions close by. Natural woodland garden is a haven for wildlife, (Red Squirrels, Roe Deer and variety of small birds.) Would recommend.
The cottage is great - wonderful living room, excellent kitchen, and nice bathrooms (one of which has a heated floor). While the setting is secluded, it's very convenient to the main road. It is also an hour and 15 minutes to Ben Nevis. The walks in the area are also excellent. Cannot recommend Torr Beatha highly enough!
