Stayed for two nights, and wished i could have stayed longer. Beautiful place, with a wonderful pool area, and very friendly staff. Located about 5 minutes drive from Evora. The room was very nice, clean, with comfortable beds and a nice balcony with a garden view. Hand sanitizer available throughout the hotel and one had to wear masks indoors (the usual measures due to the pandemic). Assisted buffet breakfast (again, due to the current situation), with plenty to choose from. Had a couple of meals at the pool bar, all good quality. Also ate at the Italian restaurant and was pretty happy with the meal.
Overall, would like to congratulate the staff for going above and beyond in making their guests feel welcome and comfortable (a special mention to Carlos, at the front desk - very friendly and helpful). Do visit this place if you get the chance. It´s the perfect place to relax.

What a wonderful hotel. It is full of history and charm. They even gave us a tour and winetasting, but this was right before covid came out.
Breakfast was fabulous and service too!
We even saw bunnies on grounds which was so cool.
I loved the chapel they restored.
It is a perfect couples place!

We have stayed at the Convento before for just one night and decided to treat ourselves to a two night weekend stay following it's re-opening after the Covid-19 lock down.
The hotel is beautiful, and the perfect place for a relaxing stay, but we did find a few small "problems" not the fault of the hotel itself but brought on by changes necessitated to comply with Covid-19 safety issues.
Apart from guests having to use masks in all public areas and of course staff masked all the time making understanding speech difficult, there is the need to limit numbers of guests at breakfast by insisting on specific timed reservations. Thus when we checked in on Friday afternoon we were asked for our chosen time for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning which could be inconvenient.
The hotel continues with a buffet type breakfast as before but that now is a served buffet which is simply not workable in our experience as each guest has their chosen breakfast choices served by one or two staff behind the buffet. This leads to queues and delays as guests wait to be attended. We do not know the answer to this as it seems a table d'hote type breakfast service was tried but was not liked by guests. It is clear that the "new normal" following the virus outbreak is causing big problems in the hotel industry!

Very nice hotel in a refurbished and repurposed monastery (convento). Nice spacious rooms, very clean and impeccable, and kept extra clean due to Corona. Wonderful Spa area, with an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a gym. Two restaurants for dinner, the one a Portuguese restaurant, the other one an Italian restaurant. We had dinner at the Portuguese restaurant, delicious and nothing to complain but rather on the expensive side, with most main courses priced at around EUR 25. Wine list okay, but for those who don’t want to take an entire 7.5 dl bottle, the offer is quite limited. The breakfast however was a disappointment because of its setup. We had to take an appointment (which doesn’t leave any flexibility one wants to have during vacation, but we appreciate this is due to Corona), the person at the welcome desk was pretty rude and despite an appointment we had to line up and wait for 10 minutes at the buffet where we were not allowed to serve ourselves but had to ask for everything. This doesn’t give a relaxed atmosphere, and you think twice if you wish to have another bit of cereals or fruit. Our point: either you have an appointment or you have to line up and wait because of social distancing, but not both. We have very much understanding for special situation due to Corona, but some things could be better organized.

We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary and we very happy with the whole experience, firstly the hotel has done everything to keep the guests safe during these hard times with Covid19 we felt that the whole place was kept very clean and safe which was a great way to start our trip. We arrived at around 1:30pm so our room was not ready but we checked in and left our bags with the front desk and sat down by the pool area and had some lunch at the pool bar. It was very quiet but the staff there were very friendly and tentative, we got into our room just before 3pm and our bags were already there along with an bottle on ice from there collection. We spent the rest of the day poolside and really enjoyed the surroundings. We got ready for our evening and had a few drinks in the bar before our dinner seating at 8:40pm The food was really nice and un expected, to be honest we have lived in the Algarve for 18 years and the Alentejo region is not known for its fine dining but our meal was great and the house red wine was also really nice. The second day was a lazy one by the pool with the same friendly service and quality we experienced yesterday. We ate again in the main restaurant we were a little surprised to see the exact same menu but it don't matter as there were at least 2 dishes we both liked the look at so were happy.
To summarise
I believe the whole Hotel and grounds are kept Covid19 so felt safe
The hotel / rooms and facilities are great
The pool area and gardens are lovely and well maintained.
The food was great although if we were staying more than 2 nights we would be hard stretched for a good choice without repeating on previous days choice.
The breakfast was fantastic with a huge choice all complimentary.
The drinks are a little more expensive than they need to be in a 5 star hotel.

We would definitely consider coming again and thank you for the hard work and efforts from all the staff members we had the pleasure of dealing with.

Steve & Lorna

Room tip: Room 127 (Delexe room) was at the end of the building so only one neighbour.
