Not only is it beautifully located but excellent food, atmosphere and the best Cape Malay Curry served!!! The staff is brilliant and does the best recommendations to food and wine. A walk away from day activities and lots of fun for the family

Room Tip: excellent food, in house fire

Dear Lee-Marque: What a refreshingly beautiful review in the midst of a morass of oppressive malcontents! It made me rejoice once again to be the owner of The Armagh and you have put a song in the hearts of all our loyal staff #TeamArmagh. Yes! We are truly blessed every day! And you have just affirmed it...Thank you!

When we first arrived we thought how interesting and an unusual place this was with what appeared to be modern facilities in and amongst the flora and fauna of the area. The reality was different. Our room was damp.Clothes left out were damp in the morning. There were significant health and safety issues particularly the poor light from the restaurant back to the lodge with a series of stepping stones and just a large rock to put your foot on to raise yourself to lodge level. The outside light did not work and although we asked for it to be fixed, nothing was done. Our friends had wooden steps up to their lodge but with no hand rails! The bathroom door would not shut probably due to expansion from the damp and generally the whole place is in need of refurbishment.
The food was reasonable but nothing exceptional.Oh yes my wife wanted to use the hair dryer in situ but there was no adapt or plug.I was told it must have been taken by the previous occupants. It was not replaced however!
All in all very disappointing and certainly not somewhere I could recommend at all.

Dear Garth J. Indeed you arrived at an interesting and unusual place amongst the flora and fauna (and forests) in the paradise we call The Armagh in StormsRiver Village Tsitsikamma. What a pity you then went down a very dingy rabbit hole where everything was sullied ugly and summed up by our greatest Cri de Guerre of the 21st Century - Health & Safety! Of course we are always aware of our guests health & happiness and have done a pretty good job during a period exceeding 22 years.
We do get damp days in our mountain and forest environment but each room has air conditioning and some Log fires to alleviate those conditions; raised stepping stones are placed because of huge flooding we do have (believe it or not) rendering our lawns kayak zones! We truly apologize for missing plugs and the light not working. A bathroom renovation program is under way but can't continue again until May 2017. Our local builders are in high demand as are our occupancy levels so we have to be swift to grab those opportunities and shoe horn the priorities. We completed one bathroom May-Aug 2016. We aspire to greater heights in this New Year when hopefully I'll be back to full health in order to pick up the baton and take The Armagh forward again. I'd so love you to come back and have a super holiday. Our loyal Staff are so disheartened when one of our guests expresses such levels of displeasure particularly when I'm not fit to be there.

We really enjoyed staying here for 2 nights in August. It was a lovely landscaped setting and surrounded by mountain views. Very peaceful and would definitely stay again if we came back. Nice service and perfect for a short stay.

The country lodge is a nice place to stay over night. It is a small accomodation not directly to the sea. The rooms are provided with all you need. De restaurant is surprising good and has a jovial atmosphere
