Set in the lovely fisherman’s village this resort was perfect for us. We had a three bedroom bungalow near the smaller pool at the back. Each room was lovely and had a large ensuite, two with a bath! Right in the middle of all the restaurants but set back meaning it was so peaceful at night. The pool closes at 7pm so you have no noise from the pool either. The free breakfast was ideal, we didn’t eat there at night as there are so many amazing restaurants within a short walk. I would recommend this place to anyone apart from people looking to party, chaweng 15mins by taxi is where all the bars and clubs are. Hopefully we will be back again in the future!

We went a couple of times for a meal in Smile House Restaurant. The last thing you see is staff that have a smile on their face, including management.
Food is certainly not to smile about, it's cold, it's little, it's tasteless. We go for our holidays to Bophut for ten years now, and "Smile House" is like Siberia : everybody knows where it is, burt no one wants to be there

Room Tip: choose a good room, but not in "No Smile House", there are no good rooms

52 yr old woman, 62 yr old man, 25 year old with baby and 21 and 19yr old, all absolutely loved it. We were given early check in at 11am with no problem. Rooms were brilliant, beds comfy, pools so clean, free breakfast was amazing.
The road someone said you have to cross was tiny and one way so no trouble at all, it's got a real village vibe to it. The beach was lovely and everyone from any restaurant was always there to help with buggy before we could even look like we needed help, to be close to the market was amazing as we could drop things off and go straight back out, they think of everything we had a torch on the wall.. umbrellas, we will defo come back as we only had 2 days as had to travel further up to another place but would have been so happy to stay. Don't listen to negativity, just book and you will love it and if you want noise you can find it but we were 2 rooms up from the road and never heard nothing at night once in bed. Book it you won't regret it.

As a couple, we had the privilege of spending 9 days in a one bedroom bungalow / wooden cottage, very neat and well maintained. All the bungalows have a spacious outside front stoep or balcony with patio furniture and even a drying rack to hang up wet towels.
They even supply an ashtray which i appreciated as a smoker.smoking on your stoep and or pool area is not a problem.

fresh linen and towels for the pool are supplied daily with bottled water.
stoep also has a ceiling fan to help keep you cool if you chose to enjoy and relax outside .

the property and grounds are clean and well maintained , gardens beautiful and the 2 swimming pools also stunning with crystal clear water, with sun umbrellas and loungers.
Smile House is well situated in an area called TheFishermans Village.
As you step out of Smile House there are markets to explore, pubs and eateries and ample cafes within walking distance to buy whatever you might need ie beer, snacks and even cat pellets .

There are a couple of cats on the property, cute and well behaved . I am a huge animal lover so of course i bought a bag of Whiskies cat pellets and fed the one ginger cat that came to pop a visit,,,,, and of course some milk which he absolutely loved
i must be honest i was very sad to have to leave him behind but l am sure there will be someone else who will carry on with giving them treats.

The staff are ALL very friendly and very respectful of our space as guests and nothing is ever to much for them ,,,,beautiful people!

Night market on Friday nights, with a band playing some really cool tunes, some i noticed on tripadvisor complained about the loudness of the music,,,,yes it was loud but only until midnight then they pack up . Is nice to have some rock n roll so now and then and it is Not as if its every day all day

i will certainly only sing Praises for this place and i will recommend it to anyone who is planning on staying on the island of Samui.
I forgot to mention that the beach is just a stones throw away as you leave the smile Hotel property, very convenient :

Room Tip: rooms in the ' S' zone where quiet but i think anywhere on the property is not affected majorly by any noise

This hotel looks lovely relaxed hidden off street so you imagine spending your hols relaxed & chilled ..far from it every night loud horrendous music blasting out, especially Mon & Fri or any other reason they decide it’s a ‘celebration ‘ it completely ruined our stay ..not the hotels fault but I’m sure the hotel was year long before the bars arrived so why don’t they do anything about it?? Felt sorry for those with kids ..well shan’t be back :(
