Good points - Rooms are well appointed with decent showers and bedding. Pool temperature is ideal, great loungers and gazebos and the water slides are good fun for all. The staff are friendly especially at the kids pool where we spent most days. However one gripe is they don’t follow their own guidelines -So anything goes on the slides, inflatables, body boards, 3 at a time. There’s a lifeguard around sometimes, but they don’t enforce any safety or make sure the pool is clear at the bottom before the next person goes, so accidents are inevitable. The Spa is decent quality and treatment was of a good standard and price was fair for a spa hotel around £80-£90 for a hour.
The food is a mixed bag even at the a la cartes. The fish restaurant was very average with no real flavour to anything. The Greek was pretty good, and Asian restaurant starters great but mains were too salty, I would say we’ve had better in our standard local Thai’s in the UK. Service is always very good and staff are well trained. The Buffet is a real mixed bag and can get a bit samey. The meat is normally dry and overcooked, the chicken skewers were always very dry, they even managed to overcook a beautiful joint of beef fillet. The desserts look amazing but lack any real flavour and most just taste of cream so aren’t really worth the calories. The Sushi was a refreshing change on our last night and was really well done. The breakfast service is a bit chaotic especially if you get there after 9. Lots of cups and bowls are chipped and it’s normally a game of steal a spoon from another table and hope for a hot coffee. The eggs are precooked so are often cold and the porridge is like water and not good. The wait for a fresh omlette is too long. The Fresh fruit and greek yoghurt is always good though.
The Kids activity area needs some tlc especially the mini golf course which lacks any imagination and it’s basically falling apart. The fencing around the football pitch also needs fixing along with new football nets, it all looks a bit tired. The activity programme is basically the same every day which gets a bit tedious, more imagination required I think.
The Gym is definitely not state of the art. Very basic in a small area with very limited and dated equipment for even a basic workout. Leg press out of order all week. The one bench was falling apart and barbell dangerously broken at one end. Poor.
The resort isn’t that big, maybe a 5 min walk end to end and a 5 min walk to beach, so those people moaning about the wait for golf carts to run them around are being a bit picky or just lazy! We enjoyed the stroll to the beach which is clean with plenty of loungers.
The format of all inclusive feels the same as it was 20 years ago when I last went on one in Turkey. The entertainment is still a bit like a outtake from Britain’s got talent at times with a fair bit of cringe!
The Kids (9&7) enjoyed it but lacked any wow factor for us. The convenience of having beach, pool with food and drink on tap is beneficial and we did enjoy relaxing there, but I don’t think overall it offers great value for money so we wouldn’t rush back.
