This place is the best. Josh and his family treat every guest as family. Their personal aproach will make you feel very welcome. We had the best holiday here! You can stay in the neighbourhood and relax, visit the nearby town, go swim in the ice cold mountainriver which you can reach using a trail Josh found or take a little hike in the mountains. By car or by train you can easily visit a number of more touristical cities/attractions. The sanctuary itself is a beautiful place, but it's the family that hosts it that makes it magical!
The Sanctuary is a trully joy for the eyes. if you are lloking for relax, calm and the tipycal amazing views of Tuscan : you must visit the Sanctuary. The place is sourronded by olive trees, mountains, stony rivers and cascades. So close to castles and at about an hour by train of the incredibly Cinque Terre. The house seems to have outcome from a fairytale, so well decorated.
But the best of the bests are the hosts!, Sally , Heather and Josh are incredibly kind and gentle!.
They deserve the best of the best! Thanxs so much for everything guys!
Hope to come back preety soon!!

The Sanctuary in Pontremoli, Italy was a picture perfect setting for a relaxing get-away! It's remote location offers a lovely view of mountains and vineyards, both from the front and back terraces. My room (The Loft) offered all the comforts of home (and a memory foam bed!) along with a beautifully remodeled bath with very unique features.....all fitting the time period of the building. A great experience with great hosts!

I was amazingly surprised to notice how the pictures perfectly matched to reality. My family and some friends of mine coming from France, we gathered in this beautiful mansion in the hills surrounding Pontremoli, a small city close to the world heritage of "Cinque Terre". it was really a haven of peace and relax; each room is elegantly furnished and decorated, as well as the common spaces. Excellent local food and beverages were available for breakfast and we've even been offered a couple of very good bottles of red wine. A special thanks to Mrs Sulfaro for her kindness. Really look forward to come back again!
