We visited the Rhumerie as part if an excursion we booked, the Rhumerie is in a lovely countryside location surrounded by the black gorges national park. The gardens were very well presented with lots of exotic flowers and plants.

We had lunch here as part of our trip, we got a choice of either starter and main or main and dessert. There was a good selection of food. We opted for the lamb shank and mixed grill and then the pineapple for dessert. The lamb shank was very large and was presented beautifully. It tastes delicious. The mixed grill was very nicely cooked but a little bland. The dessert was very sweet and a nice mix of different pineapple elements. We also got a rum cocktail, glass of wine and coffee included. It was excellent quality and value for money.

The grounds and rhumerie are very well presented and it is a lovely place to visit. We just dropped in when passing by and the overall tour and tasting etc. took around an hour at most.
It is interesting to see and taste, but I must admit I preferred the St Aubin rum better than that of Chamarel, sorry guys.

This place is very nice. It is very well maintained with a professional and kind staff. The tour with the guide is interesting. The tasting is very nice too, with a large choice. I recommend going there!

This rhumerie is a fun day out if you are interested in the tour it offers. The rum tasting is fun but other than that I'd give it a miss. You can buy the chameral rum at the souvenir shop at the 7 coloured earth. Sugar and Rum is a huge part of Mauritius. So from a cultural perspective it was interesting.

A beautiful looking location and rhumerie. We stopped to talk to the reception about visiting the shop and restaurant but were told that we had to buy the tour to get any sort of entrance. So decided to drive on. Shame as the rum is quite nice. Worth a visit if you want the tour otherwise give it a miss.
