The house is outside Stemnitsa, but with a track e some steps you reach the centre in few minutes.
Room are wide enough and very clean. Some have nice view on the valley.
Breakfast is a little bit disappointing (for instance no yogurt).
Overall no doubt 5 stars considering the price: astonishing value for money.
This cozy gem was perfection. Situated at the top of lovely and peaceful Stemnista--where your morning starts with the sound of either church or goat bells--this beautiful stone guest house was truly perfect. Cozy beds, lovely views from our balcony across the rooftops to views of misty mountains, delicious breakfast in a handsome dining room with a vaulted room, charming walking paths down to the village--it was all wonderful. But what lifted our stay from already wonderful to truly unforgettable was our innkeeper, Theodoros, was his kindness and caring. His father built the house, and he was so sweet and thoughtful. At 75, he asked to lead us on an amazing walk around the mountain that rises above Stemnitsa. We could NEVER have found the path on our own, and we bushwacked and rambled as Theodoros led the way, our quiet leader. Did he speak English? No. Did we speak Greek? No. Did it matter? No. I would highly, highly recommend staying here. FYI, bookings are made through Theordoros's son and daughter and law, based in Athens. They speak fluent English, and are always available by phone if you need help with a translation while you're in Stemnitsa. It's a country village, which means no all folks speak English, but you'll be fine.
