“Inglenook Cottage”
Reviewed 7 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Inglenook is in a beautiful location, half a mile or so from the A1 but it is so peaceful with a very nice outside area. It's a great base for exploring the surrounding towns and villages and you'll find detailed information of places to see and things to do.
It is cosy without being small. The log fire is a lovely feature and we'd have loved to take advantage of it but as we were fortunate with the weather, it was too warm to use it.
It has everything you'd need for a self catering stay except a washing machine. Like some other travellers, unfortunately I did not find the bed in the double room comfortable.
The bag of ice in the freezer was appreciated as was the provision of an extra towel when it was requested.
Rachel was very easy to communicate with and her responses were immediate.
She kindly allowed us to stay in the cottage past the 10am checkout as we waited for the AA to relay us back to Glasgow after our car broke down.

“Very impressed”
Reviewed 16 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

This was a lovly cottage and the pictures don’t do it justice. The directions were clear and concise. The owner was quick to answer questions and very attentive.

The only issue I had was the double bed mattress wAs not the most comftable but would def stay again

“Great location and cosy cottage but one gripe.”

Everything was good about the cottage. It was clean. Wifi was excellent. Good facilities. Lovely shower and bath. Great wood burner. Plenty of fuel left for us. . Only issue we had was with the mattress in the double room. It was very firm. Of course some people prefer a firm mattress but I felt it was firmer than normal and quite uncomfortable,
Having said that the locality was great for Bamburgh and Alnwick. The beach and castle at Bamburgh was great. Had fish and chips from the Neptune. chippy in Seahouses which were excellent. Got to a Kielder water in an hour and a half and had Sunday lunch.

We had a absolutely lovely family break for my birthday, the cottage was in a beautiful quiet location within a short drive to the beach. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable with a beautiful log fire. Will definitely look at returnin
