Having stayed here over a year ago as part of a tour group we had no hesitation in staying over for a night again as a couple travelling by ourselves.

We were made very comfortable, and as there were very few guests in for dinner when we ate we were offered the bar as venue rather than be alone in the large dining room. A table was set up and we enjoyed a great meal in some lively company. Breakfast the next morning (after a very warm and comfortable sleep) was without pizazz, but generous and tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Would have no hesitation in a third , fourth, or fifth visit if the opportunity arises.

Room Tip: A Room in the annex (the old house on same grounds, but next to the main building) is recommended.

It is now about a year since the new owners have taken over. Their personal touch is gone.
The rooms are the same, slightly cramped but clean and neat.
Some maintenance required.
The food is disappointing. No tea at breakfast - yes it is provided if you ask - but hardly with a smile from the chef.
The culinary experience leaves to be desired. Presentation needs improvement. How hard can it be not to burn a processed sausage?

We stayed in the annex building. The unit was spacious enough, linen and bedding was acceptable good quality. Bathroom was long and narrow, no problem on a short stay.

The main building features the reception, bar and good restaurant. Menu selection was good, They also have a above average wine selection from their cellar.

The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. Will stay here without hesitation.

Room Tip: They make a proper cappuccino at the restaurant.

We stayed in a guesthouse and wanted to have dinner in the hotel with family who stays in town. We were told that they had a large group and that the restaurant is fully booked, but would prepare a table in the ladies bar.

The dinner started a bit shaky when we arrived and there was a crowded pub with no table. The staff quickly sorted it out and was very helpful and capable.

Some of us had the buffet dinner and some ate from the ala carte menu. The food was very good and the service excellent. I always appreciate it when the chef comes to your table to enquires on the food.

One added extra is that you can select your wine from the 100 year old cellar. Prices are reasonable.

Will definitely eat here again when in town. The new management is taking the hotel to a new level.

Stayed over on a visit to Lesotho. You are made to feel welcome.
Lots of advise on journey into Lesotho. Because we were leaving in the morning, a breakfast
box was packed. Lots of rail transport memorabilia.
