We were welcomed by our host and allowed to have access to our room even though we were early and before check in time, my only complaint was the strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room. Besides that, we had a comfortable stay, was pleasantly surprised to see how accommodating Albert House was for the kids who played on the jungle gym and trampoline and had plenty space to run around. The restaurant was also delicious and useful to have so close by.
UPON ARRIVAL I WAS MET AT THE BACK NOT AT RECEPTION PAYMENT WAS DEMAND IN CASH. WIFI NOT AVAILIBLE IN ROOMS MUST EXIT ROOMS TO OBTAIN SIGNAL. AS I WAS ON COURSE AND IT STARTED AT 07:30 BREAKFAST WAS GIVEN THE DAY BEFORE FOR THE NEXT MORNING. I WAS SUPPOSED TO STAY FOR 5 NIGHTS BUT DUE TO BAD SERVICE AND COLD WATER I DECIDED TO QUIT MY STAY AT ALBERT GUEST HOUSE.
VERY DISSAPOINTED IN BOOKING WITH THEM.

I don't like writing bad reviews because most of the time they are too personal.
But in this case I want to share my experience and hope that this will not happen again to anyone:
We arrived in the dark but within the regular check-in times. Everything was dark. We rang the bell at the gate for about 30 minutes and even tried to reach Albert House by phone. No reaction. We had already paid the price for the overnight stay + breakfast, so we waited.
However, as it got later we decided to look for an alternative to stay for the night and luckily found something where they were willing to open the door.
We found out later that there was a power blackout and assumed that neither doorbell nor telephone were working. But honestly, if I am awaiting guests, I have to make sure they can reach me somehow - put a note on the gate or anything.
And to make it even worse, I wrote two e-mails (one on the same evening and one just after we came back to Germany) - NO REACTION AT ALL, no apologies or anything. This is really diappointing.
The room looked tired and out of date. The curtains was hanging "knit one slip one" and what looks like mold on the bed side lamp was not cleaned off plus the lamp stand was hanging all wobbly. The crochet granny blanket over the edge of the bed looked extremely gross and not washed in ages. The sound the toilet made when flushed would have been amusing if it was not so shocking. Wish I could add the sound bit I made. The general state of the property is very neglected.

Could recommend. Rooms nicely equipped, clean, very comfortable even in the middle of winter. Very helpful friendly staff. Only thing is that the breakfast was a bit spartan and oily. Otherwise very nice.
