Oude Pastorie is a beautiful, traditional and historic house with yellow wood floors, high ceilings and large rooms. It benefits from being walking distance from the centre of Cradock with a access to restaurants etc. and also has secure parking.
A spacious, comfortable location with a fascinating historical connection and intriguing decor. We enjoyed having a spacious room with all necessary amenities and lots of outdoor space. Our host generously gave us use of a separate Braii Kitchen with a gas cooker during load-shedding.
Nice and quite with an Old World charm ... The "Green Room" (nr. 3) was very spacious and comfortable ... All requests were dealt with quickly and our needs accommodated (eg. request for an early check-in).
• Easy to find and safe parking on property.
• Everything was clean on arrival.
• Bed was comfortable.
• Easy check-in and check-out with drop box for keys.
• In a room that could sleep 4 people, only had 1 fork.
• Shower isn’t great, either scorching hot or ice cold, no matter how slowly you add the cold water (as the sign states).
• Needs a bit of updating.
• No shelf / broken shelf in the shower, so nowhere to put toiletries.
• Blinds in the bathroom were broken, so once down, remained down.
• Dogs barking quite a bit.
• No lamp shades??
• We were told we could watch the 2023 RWC semi-final game in our room, as our room was the only one with DSTV - didn’t have the rugby channel…
• Chairs need to be upgraded/maintained.
• Bathroom towels and bath mat need upgrading.
Great value. Fantastic host. Not the most modern place but love the furniture. I never asked and he may have had one but all the room needed was a fan for a bit of air flow at night, especially in summer.
