My husband and I visited 2 weeks in a row and the changes of the flowering shrubs in the hidden valley woodland garden was dramatic. The woodland gardens meander up and down through Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias and the colours were stunning. Water runs down through the gardens and forms ponds at various places along it's way. It is such a beautiful and relaxing place to visit with just birdsong to be heard. Out of the woodland garden and you are in the large deer park. A climb uphill will take you to The Roman Ruins. If you walk back to the house there is a small museum, small formal garden, lawns and a tea rooms that serve large slices of cake, cream teas, sandwiches or baguettes which can be eaten in the dining room or outside on the terrace while looking out over the grazing herd of deer towards the River Severn. £5 entry for adults. Be quick as the gardens are only open until June and only on Wednesdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

A beautiful garden full of superb rhododendrons and azaleas, the water garden is a delight with dragonflies and damselflies skimming the water. A tranquil valley with sides beautifully planted with a wide variety of unique rhododendrons in glorious colours. A lot of work has been recently done which has further enhanced this magnificent garden. From the tea rooms you get an amazing panorama over the River Severn as well as glimpses of deer grazing.
